What does that say about the so-called God's chosen people that fought and murdered their way throughout the old testament?
Do you mean what reward awaits the troops? Maybe, perhaps a new creation will be in store. Luke 16:9 and I say to you for yourselves make friends by the mammon of unrighteousness that when fails they might receive you into eternal dwellings.
It is taught that money fails by everybody, I think. But is that reading into it something that is not there? I would surely agree with the rest of the world if the word eternal was not there. Who put the word eternal there? αἰωνίους aiōnious Strong's 166. It is because the word eternal is present that I cannot believe it means make friends with your money so that if money should fail they will take you in. Eternally? People have no power over eternity.
So.....then it means failure is in the forecast. See how the previous verse alludes to the sons of light being not wise? Might the important meaning of the proceeding illustration be that believers are not apt to ask their owner Christ "what do I owe you?". Matthew 11:19 Wisdom is proved righteous by it's works. What works do we owe Christ? Well, we do what he would have done as he is dead and we are not. I realize he is not really dead, but he looks dead. I mean he looks absent. One easy way to have obeyed him is to tell the truth. They didn't do that. Now we don't.
