Being misled

It is rather sad when a Christian thinks his or her interpretation is the right one and everyone else is wrong. In reality, only God would know who has it 100% correct- and I am willing to bet that no one actually does. God does not expect us to be perfect- I believe that God has mercy. I believe that God wants us to be as good as we can be, even if we fail sometimes.

I'm so sorry I make you sad. Is me making you sad all my fault?

If "no one actually does" know the truth then it appears no one is listening to the helper. Does the helper sent by The Son know what the words mean?

I wasn't really speaking about you- I was speaking more generally. I have read the Bible, the entire thing- some books more than once and even several times. I don't feel it is my place, however, to tell people they are being misled because I interpret a certain verse or verses somewhat differently than they do- only God can judge that- people can't. Only God can read our hearts. I doubt seriously that God will separate Himself from a true believer just because he or she may have gotten a certain teaching wrong. We are not perfect, as I said, and I don't think God expects us to be. As a Christian, that is why God sent Jesus- because we are not perfect.

And no, I am not saying that everyone who calls themselves a Christian is truly one: Look at the WBC (Westboro Baptist Church)- they have hatred, which is a big no-no according to Jesus' teachings. By their fruits, we will know them. :)

It is not about getting a teaching wrong. It is about teaching it wrong.

James 3:1 Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

1 Timothy 1:7 They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.

James 1:16 Don't be deceived, my dear brothers.

James 3:10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.

My point is the Bible has been translated by men presuming to be teachers.

I think I have provided logical argument to prove that.

If humankind's legacy to the children is a twisted message, how is that forgiven, if people keep denying it?

How is "leave well enough alone" forgivable?
If you should forgive it isn't it denying the truth of "you will reap what you sow"?

Is the world well enough? I know it is not. I wonder why most people want things left they way they are? I call it selfish. What causes sinning? What kind of selfishness is forgivable and which kind is not? Was the Bible suppose to teach? Why do the orphans and the widows still suffer? What does Yehoshua The Christ's rule mean please?

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. "Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children."

A primitive root, apparently meaning to mediate in religious services; but used only as denominative from kohen; to officiate as a priest; figuratively, to put on regalia -- deck, be (do the office of a, execute the, minister in the) priest('s office).

Luke 12:47 "That servant who knows his master's will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows."

Is it best then to be ignorant? Or does the warning at Hosea 4:6 still apply?

I am being attacked and ignored because I say the regalia of the men and women posing as God's servants is not from God. I have no such thing as
The emblems or insignia of royalty, esp. the crown, scepter, and other ornaments used at a coronation. The distinctive clothing worn and ornaments carried at formal occasions as an indication of status.
and I have not one follower, but it is I you are trying to tell is not from God. It is me who you say should mind my own business. If it wasn't funny I'd be ********.

It does not matter if I believe I am right or wrong. I am not a leader. It is the leaders who lead for The Leader that should be ignored. But don't attack them, it's not nice.:angel2:

John 10:1,2,6 "I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep".....Jesus used this figure of speech, but they did not understand what he was telling them.

John 10:4,5 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice."

of another shepherd not their own, in no way not they should follow, but will flee from him. because not they recognize of strangers the voice. John 10:5

But people who see themselves as sheep are saying it is not possible to know the voice of the True Shepherd. I don't believe it is not possible to be helped by the Helper, the Holy Spirit, the True Shepherd.

2 Timothy 3:13 But evil people and impostors will flourish. They will deceive others and will themselves be deceived.
The New World Translation But wicked men and impostors will advance from bad to worse, misleading and being misled.

Who is misleading wicked men and impostors? Does anyone know?
Would you say "the devil"? I think that is not the answer.

What? Oh look a visitor!

The closing of minds to other views is at least three thousand years old. What are you saying? I am trying to open them. Tell me please, how is it I am "closing my mind"? Seeing I am the only one here I must assume you mean Me.

You are closing your mind by creating a group of people and then labeling them "deceivers", which conclusively allows you to dodge and move goal posts consistently without ever considering how illogical it may be on your behalf.

Other views? Don't you mean The Other View? I do not see more than one. Oh there are two views. One says it can mean anything you want it to mean. The other one says it means God has changed in Christ.

Please are you actually saying something? I'm dying to know.

Well I did say something, what you got from it all depends on if you read it or if you just looked at it

I like how you instantly jump in to judge people as soon as you get done saying everyone else shouldn't.

Way to go!

Jesus warned us about false prophets- He knew that we (Christians) would be able to know they are false if their words aren't in harmony with Jesus' words. I think even a non-Christian would be able to tell a false prophet from a true prophet- if that person had read Jesus' words.

Yeah, right.

A lot of what Jesus said was intentionally over-dramatic. The description of the punishment is a deterrent. But remember, this is God who cursed the Earth on our account! So if He says some will be raised (given into overabundance) or lowered (/poor and suffering), I'd consider the seriousness, and who He is, in relation to me. If not a son, or made into one, we miss out on the greater rewards/inheritences that sons receive simply by nature.

So if someone wins the lottery that makes them a good Christian. Great logic, though it approaches the more banal understandings of karma.

All this speak of prophets and words makes me wonder if anyone actually pays attention to any of their dreams.

"Prophets" are simply the work of trends and styles, it doesn't matter if they exist in light or hide in shadows. They belong to desire, nothing more and nothing less.

What?? Do you think the WBC is this nice, lovely organization? I am not judging them- they judge themselves with their hateful speech and their protesting funerals and stuff. If I were judging them, I would be sending them to some kind of hell or something (no human could judge in that way- only GOD can). They are (the way I see it) giving other Christians a very bad name. And keep in mind Jesus DID NOT say not to judge, but that we would be judged by how we judge others. If I say to someone that they are bowling (stupid example, I know, it's 1am) and they are bowling, that is not judging them. Saying that they are going to prison for bowling would be an unfair (and pretty stupid) judgment. Saying that they will have fun bowling is a fair judgment, although they may actually have a lousy time bowling (I say this because I once bowled a 13):eek::eek:

As for the other discussion, if I were to say to someone "you are misled" without taking into consideration that I may be the one that is wrong or that I am wrong, too, I would be bringing the same condemnation to myself that I would be giving to the person I said was being misled. That is a good, good reason not to tell people that they are being misled unless you really know FOR SURE that you are not being misled yourself.

Right, so if most of a religion is following what you consider false doctrine, wouldn't it make sense to call them "misled"? False = misled doesn't it??

Despite the sarcasm with no reply, I have to say I stand by what I said. And keep in mind we are entitled to our opinions even if you think they are stupid. :ignore::ignore::D

That's more straight up saying that that is a false conclusion. Doesn't the Scripture even refute that?

You may like the rose tinted glasses but Scripture says otherwise, sorry. :(

How would I know if someone is following a false doctrine or not! I said earlier that God is the judge of that and I meant it. I didn't even say WBC was false religion- For all I know, we're all supposed to say we hate certain people because some reason like sexual orientation. But, as I see it, they are not following the gospel the way I read it at all- you know, all that stuff Jesus said about loving your enemies and praying for them and loving your neighbor and stuff. Just remember I am a human, too. I have fallacy, too. I don't condemn (I try not to), even though I do judge sometimes(as everyone else alive does).

Bowling is a good illustration.

I am SURE the World is misled. I am not sure you or I am.
"The whole whole lies in the power of the wicked one"
"Satan has blinded the eyes of"

2 Corinthians 3:14 But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away.

Christ takes the veil away. Then what? You are saved? No! Once the vieil is removed you can see. See what? What can be seen with the removal of the veil?

Matthew 13:22 The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.

What word? The word that you are saved? It is enough? If it is enough then I suspect you are one who seeks to save his soul. You will lose it. Did you not hear?

Mark 8:35 for whoever may will to save his life shall lose it; and whoever may lose his life for my sake and for the good news' sake, he shall save it;

People are making a mistake. They are judging themselves a believer to the tune of righteousness for salvation because they believe the words "believe and you will be saved".

I must wonder if you absorbed any content of the thread? I'm taking about the bible. I'm not taking about people's trust in Jehoshua, in themselves, in the relationship with him or others. I am talking about where scripture leads. Is scripture important? I believe it is the second most important thing to love. Love first. Scripture second. You say savagewind should not judge. Did you read the post that claims some scripture has been translated to mean just that. "Stay away from a foolish man" it says. Did you read that one?
