Are there levels in heaven/hell?

Come the day of judgement, will God bring about different levels of heaven and hell?

For instance, will the second level of heaven be more pleasurable than the first and so on? Will the second level of hell be more painful than the first and so on?

If yes, then will there be jealousy/envy in heaven? If I find myself in the first level of heaven, what would I have to do to get to the second level and so on?

Or will everything be uniform? That is, if I get to heaven, will Jesus, Adam, Eve, Mohammed, Ayesha, and all other heaven dwellers experience the same level of uniform pleasure as I do?

I come from a Hindu (Advaita) perspective.

Yes, I believe in levels of so-called heaven and hell. But none of these are static states (forever). We continually grow and advance. Eventually we understand we are all part of the One consciousness.

Yes..There are different levels of heaven and hell but there is no any jealousy.

If There are different levels then the prophets will be in the highest with other perfect believers.

To add: There are no ''bad'' feelings or ''evil'' inside heaven.

I think Emanuel Swedenborg probably had some things to say about Heaven and Hell but to be honest with you I have only a few notions about heaven and hell that I feel fairly comfortable with...namely, that heaven is nearness to God and hell is being alienated from God and those are states that can occur any where whether on this plane of existence or say in the spiritual worlds.

But here's something to reflect on that I found to share about heaven..

As a Persian Poet has written: -- "The Celestial Universe is so formed that the under world reflects the upper world." That is to say whatever exists in heaven is reflected in this phenomenal world. Now, praise be to God, this meeting of ours is a reflection of the heavenly concourse; it is as though we had taken a mirror and had gazed into it. This reflection from the heavenly concourse we know as love.

As heavenly love exists in the supreme concourse even so it is reflected here. The supreme concourse is filled with the desire for God -- thank God, this desire is also here.

Therefore if we say that this meeting is heavenly, it is true. Why? Because we have no other desire except for that which comes from God. We have no other object save the commemoration of God.

You get whatever you want in heaven and if one is at the highest level he can go lower ''if he wants'' since he can get everything he wants.

Why will there not be any jealousy? Will you not want to get to the highest level? What do you expect to be doing in heaven if you just get into the lowest level there? What does your God expect you to do to get to the highest level? Does he not want you to get to the highest level?

What would someone have to do in heaven to get from the lowest level to the highest level?

where do you see this in scripture? a good person going to hell, is that possible?

The whole Bible is built on saving grace, not works. You can study grace vs. works theology if you like. So being good has no meaning or bearing in determining where one goes when they die, however it does have meaning in determining the level of reward or punishment. The Bible says that we are condemned already. If you asked Hitler if he was a good person, what do you think he would have said?

I get the grace part, I am a calvinist, I also get the total depravity of man part, what I don't get is a good man being in a lesser hell than a bad man and I don't see that anywhere in scripture, no levels of rewards or punishment apart from crowns, can you show me where you see this? or is it assumed?

Yes it is in the Bible but I don't have time to research it all right now. Here are a couple verses. Do a little Google searching and you will find the different levels of hell verses. Also Hell is described as total darkness and fire and you can't have darkness with fire so that could mean there are different places in hell for different people.

Luke 10: 12 I assure you, even wicked Sodom will be better off than such a town on judgment day.

Luke 20:45–47
Beware of the Scribes
45 uAnd in the hearing of all the people he said to his disciples, 46 “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes, and love greetings in the marketplaces and the best seats in the synagogues and vthe places of honor at feasts, 47 wwho devour widows’ houses and xfor a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.”

Romans 2:3–5
3 Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God? 4 Or do you presume on hthe riches of his kindness and iforbearance and jpatience, knot knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? 5 But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.

They will be happy with the Lord. What could be better than that. Now the fact that the rest of us are lazy, who would rather be servants rather than friends of God. Doesn't make his friends mazochists. It makes us idiots.

Be fully obedient to the Gospel. Good luck with that one. I am too lazy. Therefore I will be grateful if God has enough mercy on me to at least boost me to the lowest level. I can't want everything for myself.

Yes there are different levels of paradise and hell, But heaven is the place away from all these, heaven is place of.. who is the creator of all this :)

Once the new earth starts there will be a static population that live inside New Jerusalem, that is the same group that will be alive for the 1,000 years. The people nor alive for the 1,000 years will make their homes outside the city and they will have children born (100 per couple). The ones inn the city will be considered to be 'great' and the ones living outside the city will be called the 'least'.

Death has two levels, dead and asleep of dead and awake, only the ones dressed for war on the day of return will experience the dead and awake part. (Isa:65)

M't:22:30:
For in the resurrection they neither marry,
nor are given in marriage,
but are as the angels of God in heaven.
