Matthew 3:16 {in bible}
"And JESUS when He was baptized WENT UP straightway OUT OF THE WATER and the heavens were opened unto Him and He saw the SPIRIT OF GOD DESCENDING like a dove and LIGHTING UPON HIM and A VOICE FROM HEAVEN saying "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
JESUS was in the water, the SPIRIT of God was descending upon Him and A VOICE from Heaven was declaring that Jesus was His Son. These Beings were comming from three different directions. There were in seperate areas at the same moment in time. The Father was speaking from Heaven while His SON was COMMING UP out of the water and the SPIRIT of God was DESCENDING. The Father said "This is my beloved Son." He didn't say "This is myself." Logic would say that if the Father is saying, Jesus is His Son then Jesus' Father is the voice speaking. They are Father and Son. If the voice in Heaven is God then Jesus is the Son of God.
What may have caused the "Trinity" theory is "Oneness" mentioned, for example, in
John 10:30 {in bible}
"I and the Father are one"
1 John 5.7 {in bible}
"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word {Jesus Christ who taught the word} and the Holy Ghost and these three are one."
Since a Father and Son can't be the same person or share the same body, there has to be another kind of oneness.
This kind of oneness is described here
Philippians 2:2 {in bible}
"That ye being like minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind."
They are one in heart {their desires] and thought {their knowledge}.
The Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit are one {in agreement}, are one in accord.

2 Corinthians 13.11 {in bible}
"Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace and the God of love and peace shall be with you."
One reason to believe that this oneness is the same as that of the Father and Son is
this...
John 17.11,21 {in bible} Jesus Intercessory Prayer
"...Holy father keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one as we are."
"That they all may be one, as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us that the world may believe that thou has sent me."
Here Jesus is praying to the Father, not praying or talking to himself.
Acts 4.32 {in bible} An example of what Jesus is saying to His Father
"And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul"
{they desired and believed the same}
Philippians 1:27 {in bible}
"...stand fast in one spirit, with one mind, striving together for the faith of the gospel."
John 15:4-10 {in bible} {I call it, Jesus' Valentine to us}
"Abide in me and I in you. As the branch can not bear fruit of itself except it abide in the vine, not more can ye, except ye abide in me.
I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in me and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit, for without me ye can do nothing.
If ye abide in me and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you.
As the father hath loved me, so have I loved you, continue ye in my love.
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love, even as I have kept my father's commandments and abide in His love."
Jesus kept the commandments of His Father, Heavenly Father, The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He was not a false prophet because He lived and taught God's principles. He was crucified because He was called the Son of God and He wouldn't deny it and He spoke as the promised Messiah.
John 10.38 {in bible}
"...though ye believe not me, believe the works that ye may know and believe that the Father is in me and I in Him {agreement}."
John 14.28 {in bible}
"...I go unto the Father, for my Father is greater than I."
Jesus said the Father is greater than himself {Jesus} That is the humbleness of Jesus Christ. He certainly wasn't enticing or persuading people away from the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob {being a heretic} rather He was leading people to Him and better obey Him.
The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, {Jesus' Father} was certainly in agreement in all that Jesus taught. There are too many teachings to metion here. It is better that you read the book yourselves to see what Jesus taught.
Genesis 3.22 {in bible}
"And the Lord said, Behold, the man {Adam} is become as one of US, to know good and evil."
This indicates that there was another person with God, when Adam was in the garden of Eden with Eve. God was speaking to this person and saying that Adam had become as "one of US". That US is Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ."
God isn't saying that Adam is perfect like Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Adam hadn't become "as they are", perfect. God was saying that he has become
{like one of us} in knowing the difference between good and evil. Before that Adam was as a little child, ignorent.
John 8.58 {in bible} Jesus said
" Before Abraham was, I am"
John 17.5 {in bible}
"O, Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was."
I'm not a debater so I leave this with you to debate if there is reason to debate but I think this is a pretty reasonable understanding of the relationship of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost..
