Greetings & Salutations!

Hello, you may refer to me as Marbas Naberius. I am thirty years of age & reside in southwestern, Ohio (or Sodom as my profile states). I am a Satanist. To clarify, I am not a theistic devil-worshiper by any means. I adhere to the philosophy set forth by Anton Szandor LaVey in 1966. If you're unaware of his philosophy/religion, I'd suggest visiting the Church of Satan's official website, which has a wealth of information.

I helped run a particular branch for a large credit union in the greater Cincinnati area for roughly two years. Due to personal differences, I no longer am in that field. I begin my venture into the world of pharmaceutical sales at the end of this month. In my spare time I enjoy: reading, skydiving, learning, watching documentaries & horror flicks, listening to death metal, black metal & bluegrass music, performing rituals, working out/weight lifting, indulging in alcoholic beverages at the local pub with friends, mind-alteration, RPG games on Xbox & a plethora of other activities!

First & foremost, I must ask, are you familiar with its teachings?

When I read The Satanic Bible it served as a mirror. I had always thought I was different & what I can equate that to more simply for you, the reader, is this...

I'd always been quite conservative in my political views, yet not-so-much (being an Atheist, which I still am) with my religious views. This caused all sorts of conflict when discussing matters with folks. Satanism uses Satan as an archetype, which is an extension of one's personality. Satan in Hebrew means adversary & I am the adversary to all spiritual/right-hand path religions & conventional society. I love its advocacy of "responsibility to the responsible", anti-turning the other cheek, its stance on ego & individualism, etc.

I am also a fan of Ayn Rand & Friedrich Nietzsche, who LaVey incorporated into his philosophy & teaching(s). Hopefully that set the record straight & explained matters a little more.

I am not really familiar with its teachings but have picked up a little here and there about them. I'm not concerned much with the tenets of the religion itself, my question is why do you feel the need to belong to this system called Satanism? You are an individual person why bother with Levey?

Because, I, unlike many people, enjoy labels & aesthetics. Also, there is not one aspect of the religion/philosophy that I disagree with. And trust me, I've read everything on the subject & have studied & done my research. LaVey once said "Satanism demands study, not worship." So, I choose to throw in my lot with the church. I am not a member & really see no point in becoming one at this stage in the game either, though that may change, I'm not entirely sure. However, I feel one is born Satanist, it's not something you can learn overnight & wish to practice it. I was living as a Satanist prior to my uncovering what it really is.
