Prayers For Moms

O God,

I have enjoyed such an abundant harvest in my life. I can scarcely ask for more, because you've already given me so much. A warm home. A family. Good food. And many other blessings

But my greatest joys are not in a harvest of material possessions or grand accomplishments. My deepest joy is found in the wonderful experiences that are mine as a mother, as a wife, as your child.

No wonder you tell us in your Word to remember your mighty deeds and the ways that you have worked on our behalf. I won't forget the ways your presence has blessed my life, and I will continue to thank you for the simple memories that last a lifetime. Thank you.

"You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and wine." Psalm 4:7 NLT

My pleasure, Lightkeeper.

Heres another prayer:

Loving Savior,

Thank you for the gift of romance. Let me paint a beautiful picture of love for my children by the love I show their father. Help me to joyfully model affection, respect, and kindness in my words and actions.

For every mother who is single, I pray that you would be the husband she is without, and the every day father her children need. For every mother who has married again, I pray that you will supernaturally create a family filled with a spirit of gratitude, unity, love, and forgiveness. For every mom in a troubled relationship, I pray that you would grant her a peace that can only come from you.

I am grateful that, beyond any human affection, you are my beloved God.

An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life. Proverbs 31: 10-12

O Lord my King,

When I think of the number of children who are abandoned and neglected, my heart aches. I can hardly bear the thought that there are children who are homeless, hungry, sick and without medical care, or who are imprisoned in circumstances where they are not loved and valued.
I pray that I may never take my own children for granted, nor all of the blessings that you have given them, and that you enable me to provide for them.
Give my eyes of compassion to the needy around me. Help me, Lord, to have the love, courage, and faith to act on that compassion, and to teach my children the joy of giving to others.

May all good deeds that we do be done in your name and for your glory. May I always remember that whatever small blessing I provide for someone in need, I am really doing it for Jesus.

Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Matthew 25:34-40

Dear Heavenly Father,

I pray that you will help me to always speak to my children with words that are both honest and loving. Help me to teach them to speak to others that way too, Lord. You know there have been times when I have been honest but harsh. You know of the times when I have been loving but insincere.

I thank you that as my loving heavenly Father you speak to me with truth and love. I know that I am far from perfect, but because of your Son, Jesus Christ, I know I can accomplish things that aren't possible by my own strength and wisdom.

Following your way leads to peace for my soul, Lord. Today I will walk in your peace by speaking the truth in love.

Hold to the truth in love. Ephesians 4:15

Father God,

I come to you with a sense of weariness. At times I feel so overwhelmed by all the things I want to do in my family and in the world. I'm not sure how everything can get done, and sometimes I feel like I have so little left to offer.
Thank you for allowing me to bring my burdens before you, Lord. I know that, day by day, you will be there with me and strengthening me for all my tasks as a mother and as your child. I know that sometimes I get tired and struggle to express my faith and hope the way I should. I am so humbled that you still accept and embrace me as I am, that you forgive all my failures, and that you offer to carry my load with me. I know that if I trust in you, all the work I do will be a joy.

Father, just knowing you are close to me now gives rest to my soul.

Come to me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you shall find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my load is light. Matthew 11: 28-30

Dear God,
There are areas of my life that don't always feel very peaceful. I know this is because I have forgotten to look to you for rest and strength. I have let the media, myself, and other people make me feel like I am not living up to the right standards as a mom and a woman. I have relied on loved ones to provide me with a sense of peace and contentment that only you can give, Lord. I have looked to the world to make me happy.
Forgive me Lord, and help me to show my child the way to true peace. You have sent your only begotten son, Jesus, as the one way to peace in this troubled world, and in my life. He alone provides a peace that is constant and not dependant on what is happening around me.
I thank you so much that when I turn my eyes back on him, peace always follows. Dear God, the gifts you give are the ones that matter.

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. John 14:27

Dear Heavenly Father,

Sometimes I get so caught up in my needs and problems that I forget that you are the giver of all good gifts. Lord I trust you to meet all my needs, as you always have in the past. You have assured me that I don't have to live in stress and fear of what may or may not happen for me and my children in the future, but simply trust in you.

So right now, I lay down all my financial concerns and other worries before you. I know that you provide in whatever way you see as best. I know that I don't have all the answers, myself, but I choose to live with confidence, with faith, because you promise to give me all I need each day.

Thank you, Lord, for all that I already have.

But if God so arrays the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more do so for you, O men of little faith? Do not be anxious then, saying "What shall we eat?" or "What shall we drink?" or "With what shall we clothe ourselves?" For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.

Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:30-34

Gracious Lord,
A relationship with you is not like a hundred-meter sprint - one quick burst of energy and it's all finished. Rather, you desire a relationship with me that is like a marathon, running steadily towards the goal every day of my life.
Lord, you know of the unhealthy baggage I've accumulated for myself. The sins, shortcomings, bad habits and negative attitudes that slow my pace, and cause me to stumble. I ask that you grant me the resolve to press onward towards my goals, and the grace to rid my life of everything that keeps me from loving and serving you and my family the way I should.
May I always look to you for the strength to keep on going and never lose heart, whatever obstacles I face.

Thank you, Father God, that you await me at the eternal finish line with an embrace and a reward that will last forever.

Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. Hebrews 12:1

So much more poetic than my constant prayers of, "Lord, don't let me kill this kid. Help me remember that tonight when I catch a glimpse of him sleeping that I will remember how perfect he truly is."

Dear God,

I look back on how I was, and I can see that I am truly growing in my faith. Sometimes it is hard to see when I think about all that is negative and unfinished yet in my life, but I know that if I stay on the path, those things will come in time. Lord help me to be a tree that bears good fruit in it's season.

Help me to continue to grow in the knowledge of your word, as a woman, as a wife, and as a mother. I know that I am growing in my witness to others. Sometimes I fall short in my attitudes and actions, and yet, I am growing. Little by little, day by day, I'm becoming more of what you want me to be.

What a wonderful work you have begun in my life! You give me peace, confidence, security, and a gentleness that I never knew before I accepted you.

And Jesus, I look forward to someday seeing you face to face. I know that then all my faults and shortcomings will melt away, and your wonderful work in my life will be perfected.

I am sure that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on that day when Christ Jesus comes back again. Philippians 1:6 NLT

Father in Heaven,

Help me to remember that I am your child, that I am as one adopted into your family. I am still learning, still growing, still being disciplined so that I may become more like the person you intend for me to be.

Lord, please help me to be more Christ-like every day. Sustain in me a will to stand strong in my faith and in my actions, so that I may show my love for you in every aspect of my life. Help me to guide the precious child that you have entrusted to me. Help me to see her as the beautiful creation she is, made in your image. May I always remember that she is your child as well, beloved by you, and do all I can to help her recognize you as the loving Father you truly are.

Oh God, what a privelage to be called your child! Thank you for loving me so much that you wanted to claim me as your own. Thank you for the responsibility and gift of guiding one of your children along the path, and may I always regard this responsibility as a joy, and blessing.
Amen.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
I John 3:1,2
