I'm glad to hear you're not miserable. That was simply the impression I got from your pessimistic post.
I am well aware millions of people live horrific lives...I've seen such suffering firsthand and interacted with people who live in unimaginable squalor and poverty. But you know what impressed me about many of these people? Despite their hardships, they were some of the kindest, most humble, and most generous people I've ever met. Their lives are definitely
not wonderful---"wonderful" is
your term, not mine---but they see the world in a way I envy. I've read plenty of stories of mothers, and fathers, in countries around the world, who have endured hunger, loss of children, loss of spouse, torture, etc., and yet have found strength and comfort in God through it all. Instead of becoming bitter and wallowing in their misery, they have turned to God instead, allowing Him to create His character in them.
Again, it's all in how we respond to the trials dealt to us. You can choose to moan about the pointlessness of everything, or you can choose to make the most of the life given to you, and perhaps leave a legacy by impacting the life of someone else. Maybe by helping that woman in Africa whose children are starving?
