I had zero interest in seeing it at first. I like DC better than Marvel, and I wasn't a big fan of Iron Man 2 and Captain America, and was getting a bit tired of superheroes. They've had batman trilogy (the only ones I'm definitely not tired of), that superman movie, another upcoming superman one, green lantern, iron man 1 and 2, thor, captain america, spider man trilogy, hulk movies, upcoming spiderman reboot, and so on.

I figured it would be too cluttered and clunky. But then it got good reviews, set box office records, all my friends were like "Omg you have to see this it's so good" so I finally went and watched it.

My only complaint is:

As soon as i saw some of the movie posters, Bane's pics, and found out who's playing him, i figured its going to be great, and can't wait to see it. I'm excited to see how they're going to portray him, in contrast to the awfully silly way he was portrayed in the older Batman movies.

In addition to the fact that this is the last installment, where the story concludes. With a lot to live up for. Its going to be really hard to match or supersede the last one, which makes this even more exciting.

Dark Knight was one of my favorite movies. Joker was awesome. I was waiting for that one ever since they foreshadowed him in Batman Begins. And I've been waiting for this one since Dark Knight.

I even called it that Catwoman would be in it way back after Dark Knight came out, when my friends and I were guess the next villains, since the only leading female in the movie is dead now, so they'd have to have a new female hero or villain somewhere in there (I knew they wouldn't make it all dudes all the time).

The complete and utter uselessness of the invisible flying aircraft carrier. It served no purpose that a regular carrier couldn't do, and it caused them more trouble trying to keep that stupid thing in the air than it did the enemy.

The way the Joker was portrayed and acted by Ledger in The Dark Knight is one of my all time favorites. Even though i was told before hand to expect something exceptional, i was still completely blown away.

Just saw "Snow White and the Huntsman" last night and was a little disappointed. The visuals were fantastic, and Charlize Theron made a pretty convincing evil queen, but Kristen Stewart was definitely miscast as Snow White. She had no personality and she barely said anything worthwhile (if she said anything at all---she mainly just grimaced and smirked and heaved and sighed a lot) the whole movie. The only redeeming parts of the movie for me were Chris Hemsworth as the huntsman and Sam Claflin as William. A little eye candy always helps a little.

Yes, eye candy is helpful but it can't totally carry a film!

Your review seems to mirror other reviews of this film. Pity. I was hoping it would be better.

Last night I watched a little gem:



The unexpected death of her husband sends a woman and her seven children, ages 2-14, into emotional turmoil and financial crisis in 1967 Dublin. She is forced to borrow money from a ruthless loan shark to make ends meet. She faces her dismal existence by selling fruits and vegetables at an open air market where she spends time with a best friend who gives her encouragement. Wishing to escape her existence, if only for a short time, she dreams of finding enough money to attend an upcoming Tom Jones concert. She realizes her dream by accepting her first date with a French baker. Her kids pool their money so she can buy a new dress. Of course, eventually the family has to face the loan shark, but this is a movie where obstacles are maybe too easily overcome.

Indeed, eye candy cannot carry a film! But since I was stuck watching the movie, I figured I'd appreciate what little there was to appreciate.

Hey, I've suffered through Mad Max and many a Johnny Depp movie for the sake of eye candy! Oh, and "Thor."

Saw MIB3 the other day. It was pretty good. It had the typical time-travel movie ending but with a twist the almost made the trilogy make sense.

Watched "The Grocer's Son" last night. It was worth watching. It's not action packed - it's all about character development. I liked it.

Le fils de l'épicier/The Grocer's Son (Eric Guirado, 2007) traverses well-worn ground in an appealing way. Nicolas Cazalé is agreeably gruff as the titular character, the Prodigal Son returning to the family he left behind (You Can Count on Me, In My Father's Den), whose pastoral existence is in stark contrast with the hubbub of the metropolis (I Know Where I'm Going!, Local Hero, Doc Hollywood).

Arriving with his almost-girlfriend, he takes on his ailing dad's rounds, finding both solace and frustration in the work. It's a bit erratic, with a couple of stretches that just consist of Cazale handing out food and an ending that's slightly rushed, but there are enough offbeat laughs and telling episodes to make it worthwhile. It's also a bit darker than you might expect, or at least more fraught.

Just saw Prometheus (directed by Ridley Scott) last nite......what a major clusterf*** of a movie. It is a prequel to Alien.
Recycled music, body horror stunts, stock characters, inconsistencies & a terrible disjointed plot were most surprising,
given that Ridley Scott directed the classic "Alien".

My friend warned me that Ridley Scott has turned to George Lucas with Prometheus.
It's disappointing to hear, since I was expecting this one. Then again maybe I'm going to like it.

Snow White and the Huntsman


I thought it was lovely. Charlize Theron brought amazing depth to her character and I thought Kristen Stewart did a great job. She played the role of a quiet innocent quite well. I was more impressed by the ladies than the men in this film. And I was relieved that they opted not to develop the story line in a particular way towards the end.

I saw it too.

I didn't like it much, although I did like the main character (I liked her in Girl with the Dragon Tattoo as well and it was cool to see her in a big budget movie), the android, and also the captain of the ship.

I found the plot a bit boring, didn't appreciate some of the cliche horror stupid decisions, and generally just didn't enjoy it all that much.

I am glad to read this before my husband and I waste $40 on a movie date. That's dissappointing.

Guess I'll just dig out all the old Alien movies and have my own private slime fest at home!

My favorite part of the movie was the Dark Knight Rises trailer before it started.

I wouldn't say it's terrible, though. I don't really feel like I totally wasted my time, but I didn't exactly enjoy myself either. I mainly agreed to see it because a) my bf is into aliens and b) I never saw a movie in 3D before.

I guess the upside of the movie is that apart from some really cliche scenes, I didn't know what the plot was about at all, or what would happen at any given point, or how it would end, so I stayed kind of interested in the ultimate fate of the various characters.

This has gotten pretty good reviews, and the one person I know who saw it liked it a lot. Said they translated the fairy tale into an (almost) LOTR style adventure film.

I'm tempted to see it just to see how they managed to turn the 7 dwarves into credible characters.

Why not?

I saw "Snow White and the Huntsman" with Dawny. I thought it was a pretty good movie. Turned out to be better than what I was anticipating, and it did have a sort of LoTR vibe to it. Nice action and effects, etc. Decent characters with a passable story. Worth seeing at least once.

Seriously though, there's a good chance you'd like it. My feelings about it are that its a nice movie, but that's it though. I was disappointed on more than one aspect, and, i'm not usually very much into that kind of movie.

My friends thought it was great though.
