Happy 64th Declaration Birthday Israel

Seven wars,two Palestinian infitadas and numerous armed confrontations and 64 years later on Israel is still there,thats not counting Britains useless handling of the whole affair and a Grand Mufti Nazi and a Brotherhood to fan the fire,so happy earned Birthday Israel,what say you.

One thing is for sure, after existing through several wars, Israel still remains what seems to be the only country in the region which is free from civil wars, coups, revolutions and other inner turmoil. Egypt, Syria and other nations are going through civil unrest which Israeli society will never experience. No revolutions in Israel, no coups, no civil wars, only the same multi party democratic system which remains solid against all regional odds. The Israeli army or police are not killing Israeli citizens as we have seen recently in nations around Israel.
In addition Israel boldly takes steps to set the standard of pluralism and democracy in the region, whether its by recognizing same sex marriage, accepting members of the LGBT community to the armed forces or having a high court which overrides government policies.
It hasn't been a perfect ride, and there's much to improve but we are still here and we still pave the way in the region for material and social progress.
If this provokes people, tough break!

BTW: You know the crusades were there for 200 years, they were happy too of their crimes and terrorism, but the muslim leader Salah ad-Din cleaned palestine of their filth...Remember that history repeats itself

The Crusades are in the distant past and i think its poor stab at propaganda to need to bring them to debate,BTW Richard Coeur De Lyon cut a deal with Sahal ad-Din for access to Jerusalem,as for history repeating itself,i think LOL is in order .

Israel has come so far in just some 60 odd years: From the choking odors of Auschwitz to a first-world country. The Jewish people, were given nothing and yet made the desert bloom. Here are some pictures I took when I visited Israel in 2007 compared to how it was before the arrival of the Jewish people:



As someone who's not Jewish, I am very happy for them. Israel and the Jewish people are truly a light unto all the world.

I find it interesting that the picture labeled "Beersheba, 1907" looks nearly identical to a picture of the Judaean Desert in a wikipedia article about the Judaean Desert photoshopped to look like an old photograph. Also, the smudges in the "Yaffo, 1899" picture are identical to those in the "Beersheba, 1907" picture.

What gives? Care to explain?

I found it ironic that someone with the name "6079_Smith_W" was banned for asking some inconvenient questions about photos.

Anyhow, the photograph which is claimed to be "Beersheba, 1907" does look strikingly like this one from wikipedia, shot in 2007 by the semi-professional photographer "David Shankbone"
