The Nephilim

These Titans or giants (Nephilim) also appeared in the traditions or legends, of the Indo-Aryan peoples and they were called, from India through to Asia, the giants in the Sanskrit which is raksasa. They appear in the Ramayana and the epics of the Indian world as raksasa (giants) and they are seen to be in conflict with men. There is no doubt that this tradition was common throughout the world up until the time of Christ. We find from the Dead Sea Scrolls that they had uncovered a number of texts. http://www.logon.org/english/s/p154.html

There is archeological evidence to back up the story of the Nephilim living in Canaan. The writer Gary Stearman wrote this about the ruins found in the region.

Today, tourists marvel at the ruins in this region. They are of truely gigantic proportion. As we have written earlier, "Here, and northward into Syria and Lebanon, there are the remains of ancient buildings and temples that stagger the imagination. For example, the ruins of Baalbek in Lebanon's Beqa'a Valley are so massive that some have suggested they could not be duplicated, even using modern building techniques.

"On the Acropolis of Baalbek, stood a temple dedicated to the storm god Hadad. It was 60 ft wide and 290 ft long, surrounded by 19 columns, each 62 ft high and over 7 ft in dia. But it's flooring stones - still intact - are each larger than a modern railroad boxcar. No one can imagine how they were moved into place.

Thought you might find that interesting.
