Spiritual significance of Succot, the Jewish Thanksgiving,a millenial festival

I posted information about Yon Kippur and Succot in Judaism entitled "Yon Kippur, day of judgement, Succot, time of Thanksgiving" because Sukkot is sometimes called "the Jewish THANKSGIVING" and this is the time of Thanksgiving. This portion entitled "Spiritual significance of Succot, the Jewish Thanksgiving, a millenial festival" I thought I should post here because it relates to the Messiah, Jesus Christ.

While in babylonian captivity they were sowing in tears ..."
During the time of succot, the feast of in gathering, it is a time to reap in joy.

On another level it represents a spiritual harvest. At the time the Jewish people were in babylonian captivity they weren't harvesting a crop such as wheat because they were in captivity. If they did harvest a crop it was harvested for their captors to enjoy. Therefore I think of a spiritual havest while they were in captivity, intercessory prayers for their souls and perhapps the souls of others.

In modern times praying for the souls of those you want to bring to a knowledge of God and the Savior {Messiah}, to enlighten them through God's Spirit, is like an ingathering of souls. As we bring people in, there is rejoicing.

Another spiritual significance is in John 7:2 The feast of Tabernacles was at hand and Jesus said "if any man thirst let him come unto me and drink ..." this is a similtude of the water libation, the water Israel depended upon for their bread, their sistenance.

There is the story of the woman at the well in John 4:6-15
Jesus says "But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst.but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life"

This water is like spirit food, food for the soul, truth that fills the mind.

Matthew 21:1-9
verse 8 "And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way, others cut down branchs from the trees and "strawed" them in the way."
verse 9 "And the multitude that went before and that followed cried, HOSANNA to the Son of david, Blesseed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord, HOSANNA in the highest." They shouted HOSANNA "Save us now". Perhapps most thought of a physical delivereence but some may have thought of a spiritual salvation, an atonement for their sins.

Historians estimate a quarter of a million were believers in the Messiah. Those were the first Messianic Jews.

I see this festival as a millenial festival, a festival that is in similtude of the millenial reign of the messiah when He comes the second time. Then they will hail Him as their king.
