What's the matter with birth control?

But where? Where do you intend to take that message? To the first world, where some countries are already dangerously close to dipping below critical mass? Don't you think your message would be better used in the third world?

Responsible, sustainable breeding should be taught in all corners of the globe.

No, being a pro-abortion, and a pro-depopulation disciple is carnally minded. My view is a slap in the face to all carnally minded.

So you won't mind when the world becomes overpopulated, resources are used up and humanity goes extinct? That is what your outlook will lead to.

Given that there are still murderers, thieves, adulterers, and rapists, to list a few, I'd say yup.

and you want to breed more of those in this world where most of these murderers and thieves come from homes where they were either not wanted or taken care of?

your logic is flabbergasting

talk about history repeating itself

That is due to a lack of reason and compassion, and nothing to do with nonsensical scratchings in some book. Such people were likely raised in homes where they were unwanted, unloved and maybe even abused and neglected. The product of unfit parents breeding; something you apparently think should be encouraged.

You haven't any logic.

You're trying to put words in my mouth...again. Where in my words have I ever promoted irresponsible breeding?

I do mind. That's why I keep asking you depopulation disciples to take your message to the third world. Why won't you do this?

Perhaps. Where do you propose to take your message?

I'm just saying there's an argument to be made.

Some of these commandments happened a while back. Laws can't be stagnant. As the situation changes the laws have to change.

I don't think any laws, even God's commandments should be accepted without question or justification.

Wrong. It's history repeating itself. There were murderers and rapists 6,000 years ago, and there are murderers and rapists in 2012.

Point being? Humans have always had flaws and failings. Magic books haven't nor will they ever serve as a remedy. Such problems can only be solved through education and by addressing cultural attitudes and socioeconomic issues. Btw, the bible condoned rape and slavery, so it's definitely a pisspoor choice for a moral compass in the modern world.

What if it wasn't within my power to give the unborn the benefit of the doubt?

If birth control methods are available to you, why wouldn't it be within your power?

What if it wasn't even my place to decide if one should be given the benefit of the doubt?

Don't you have a saying when you don't want to have another child?

What if I decided that I wanted that person to be free to pursue his own destiny, rather than sieze control of that person's destiny so that I may have power over that person?

Freedom at the cost of well-being?
Why not both together?
