Does the Bible Permit Women to Lead, Teach, Preach or Speak?

Hahaha. Sometimes I am so embarrassed to be a Christian. Laughing helps.

On a side note, I do find it quite interesting how people so easily ignore the vast bulk of what Paul says, and instead, focus on a minority position, when not actually understanding what Paul is saying in the first place.

If one just takes the time to read Paul, they can see a number of women being praised as being quality leaders.

:D I thought the same thing - some people know how to make a whole group look embarrassing.

1 Peter 3:1
3:1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;

1 Peter 3:5-6
5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
KJV

ohhh look
even Sarah "OBEYED" Abraham

hmmmmm

Romans 16:1, 16:3, and 16:7.
1 Corinthians 1:11, 16:3

All of those verses show that Paul supported women leadership, and held women leaders in high regards.

Personally, I don't think he ever actual condemned women leadership though.

Yes, that's a modern stupidity.

1 Tim 2:11
11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection .
KJV

The bible does not permit YOU to speak.

If you know the bible, you know exactly what verses I'm talking about.

Hosea 14:7-8 Return, O Israel, to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled in your iniquity. ב. Take words with yourselves and return to the Lord. Say, "You shall forgive all iniquity and teach us [the] good [way], and let us render [for] bulls [the offering of] our lips.

I realize that the KJV will render these verses differently but this is the Jewish text we are talking about and I prefer to use a Jewish edition when talking about Jewish scripture

It doesn't matter as long as you agree with him.

Like I said
cleaning the toilets

in no way did these preach on a pulpit

The command (or law) is that a wife teach the children

O I'm glad you're online.

Did they have pulpits in the early church?

what did Paul say

I Timothy 1:2: Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
I Timothy 1:3: As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
I Timothy 1:4: Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
I Timothy 1:5: Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
I Timothy 1:6: From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
I Timothy 1:7: Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.
I Timothy 1:8: But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

I Timothy 1:8: But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

Nope. Paul didn't say any of that.

Titus 2:1: But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
Titus 2:2: That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
Titus 2:3: The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
Titus 2:4: That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
Titus 2:5: To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

I Timothy 1:1: Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;
I Timothy 1:2: Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
