Hello Melody:Melody said:Well, I believe that my faith is true, but I would not classify myself as arrogant. I do believe that the proof of God's existence is obvious and I'm not just relying on a book. All I have to do is look around me to know He exists.
Hello NetDoc:NetDoc said:Jesus did not come to preach... he came to die and used the opportunity to preach the Good news of salvation.
First of all, in Matthew 16:21 why Jesus himself wasn't saying that statment but it was only according to how his disciples understood him and as you know there are many verse where Jesus was telling them that they are not getting what he mean.NetDoc said:Matthew 16:21 From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.
22 Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. "Never, Lord!" he said. "This shall never happen to you!"
23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men." 24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done. 28 I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom." NIV
Not only did he teach that his death was neccesary, he took a dim view of those who would teach otherwise.

Go ahead, but I don't believe in "Original Sin".Cordoba said:It will be difficult to debate the issue of original sin, as this is one of the main issues where the Christian and the Muslim understanding are very different.
Sin of Adam? Cordoba must be female. It is true that the sin of Adam caused him to be sent out of Paradise
Adam's sin was listening to Eve and eating the fruit.Malus 12:9 said:Sin of Adam? Cordoba must be female.
Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Whi is it Adam's sin?
Didn't he have come to do both? If he just went and died, without preaching, when he was resurrected he would have had no disciples and no teachings for these disciples to follow.NetDoc said:Jesus did not come to preach... he came to die and used the opportunity to preach the Good news of salvation.
Dear NetDoc:NetDoc said:Go ahead, but I don't believe in "Original Sin".
Every one has sinned. You don't need Adam's sin to make you a sinner. I don't see how this addresses the fact that Jesus had to die for YOUR sins (for mine too!).
God killed 70,000 innocent people because David ordered a census thing of the people..because He is The Most Merciful,
