Wow! you can say that again!

I don't know where you logged into the HC but I never got a hint of any of my old posts, etc.

Once a week I would receive updates about activity at THC sent to my e-mail account that was linked to my identity. The last update came after the message boards were closed. I just clicked on one of the links to get in. Try this one:

HISTORY Community -

I could find profiles, my home page, and personal messages through my home page. At HISTORY community - Message Board I was able to look at some of the old posts on the message board.

BTW, I just added a new post on the Current Events forum at the History message boards today.

I couldn't access HOC though.

I used the second link to go in and log in. Then I closed the link without signing out. When I went back in using the second link I was still signed in and it opened to the community page with access to all of the forums.

Thanks now I have to find my password! HC probably always had mixed feelings about having forums, either the users who did watch their programs had nasty things to say about the programs, but I --usually-- tried to find some good things to say, or those on the Christianity Forum would "History Channel" what's that? Or had nasty things to say when the HC did have programs about Christianity, which by the way I only had bad things to say about their programs on Christianity. PBS in my opinion was usually more fair when it came to Christianity and I usually could at least sit near the end of a PBS program on Christianity and not throwing a show at the t.v. until about the end of the show:run:, though of course with a more liberal bent than I would care for.

I would have wished that HC would actually return to history programs. I would find the NGS channel would have some excellent history programs, and as does PBS. HC had better collaborate with these guys or start buying programs from them.

Ah, all of the above I never said on HC , which is just as well it would have been ignored anyway. But, I'll work on the password thing and see what happens on HC.

For the ex-members of the THC HoC, I discovered that even though the message boards are gone, I was still able to log in, go to profiles, my home page and PM messages. If anyone wishes they had saved something left behind when they came here, apparently you still have time to go back and save it.

I got your message about THC boards closing about 2 days after they did. I tried googling you but couldn't find you. The post that you linked me to for other boards to join was no longer up on the net. (Could you PM me the list?)

And I realized, in all the years we've chatted on the net that I didn't even know your email addy. ~shrug~ How did that happen?

So I googled again today and found you on this board! :woohoo:

I still have yet to have a look around at all the topics though. I've actually been hanging out on the ATS boards. Not much of a religion discussion there but some of their other topics are pretty interesting.

I am new here so I am not sure, but I think this place is open to all view points.

I am glad to see you found this place. There seem to be some forums within forums within forums that you may find interesting. I am still learning my way around here. I have not tried using the PM feature yet. I am having a frustrating time with getting automatically logged out just a few seconds after I log in and then get logged out a few seconds later after logging in again.

I do not remember all the sites I had on that list, and I cannot get back into the link to the list either. I am surprised you did not get my email address along with the message I sent to you.

Did you find any other interesting sites before you came here?

This site looks great. :tigger: Just about every religion on it! I haven't quite figured out how to modify my profile yet though. I keep getting redirected back to the main forums page. But I like all the choices of smileys and emotions. They're funny.

I had my THC msg board PM set up to send all to me via email. But no, it doesn't give out anyone's email addys. Problem was that I wasn't able to reply back to any PMs on their board for over 6 months. It was rejecting my replies saying I had the wrong flash player. So I can only read what someone sent me as a PM, but was unable to login and respond to any of them. Could post anymore on anyone's profiles. Never could figure out what was wrong or why the board began rejecting my Flash Player. It USED to accept it and then suddenly stopped.

I had an account on ATS (abovetopsecret.com) and I went back to some of their threads. If you go to the main page and then click on the link to ALL topics...they have a huge selection! I hadn't logged in awhile but started posting again. And NeoGeo from THC invited me to a newsgroup-listserv to which I subbed. But other than that, not sure if there's any other "history" sites. ATS's is the only one with a History section on it that I know of.

I like this religion site though, even if there isn't much of a broad range history discussion on it (like archeology). I'll try PMing you so that you can see if it works for you--a test.
