Poor Randy Couture...KO'd by a Steven Seagal front kick. Heh heh, it was awesome...Congrats to Machida for his 129k bonus for that.

The WAR between Aldo and Hominick was epic. Those who did not watch the fight, Google how Mark Hominick's face looked, it's brutal.

The GSP fight was typical, boring, enough said.

The Aldo/Hominick fight was ******* epic. Easily fight of the night. I have a whole new respect for Hominick now. As good as Hominick is, I didn't give him much of a shot at making it out of the first round, let alone going to a decision with Aldo.

The GSP fight was boring as balls, and poor randy got layed out by a kick they teach white belts in Karate lol. The only thing I could think of when it happened was THIS! IS! SPARTA! lol

All in all not a bad UFC.

Some haters of Steven Seagal have commented that Anderson and Lyoto already had that front kick in their arsenal. Well of course they did, but it is more than coincidence that both Anderson and Lyoto finished their last fights with the same technique, and if you watched closely, in how the foot made contact, it was the same for both.
Seagal, simply helped them fine tune that kick, and it is obvious Steven has been watching the UFC and seeing the opportunity for this kick. Apparently he saw that since it was rarely used, so no one defended or expected it, so it would have a high success chance of making it through. Yet at the same time, when it is done, it would have to be punishing, and not just a snap kick.
He then went to work, and it paid off. Bravo again to both of them.

They did win fight of the night. I thought it was going to be another easy KO for Aldo as well, but I was much more pleased with this outcome.

GSP fights are always boring. At least this one was better than the Josh Koscheck one, unless of course you revel in the fact he needed re-constructive surgery afterwards. Lyoto's kick was worth the 129k KOTN bonus. But, seemed to be the only one happy about his victory.

Indeed, all of Team Blackhouse trained with Seagal. I'm sure he helped with both of their game plans. Seagal did come out enter the arena with Machida.

Is there Buffalo Wild Wings around where you are? You can watch it for free there, which is what I do. Most places like BW3's shows the fights every month

Haha, I just went there last night.

I didn't know they actually show the fights, I figured they just showed stupid basketball, football, and baseball all the time.

But I guess, I did see the Shogun vs Jones poster they had up at the front door a few months back.

Yea, especially if its on a Thursday night.

Boneless wing night....ahhhh makes me mouth water.

I don't think they would show the fight nights though, that would be neat if they did, but I can mostly like just watch those on the net.

ufc 130!

Main Event:

Quinton "Rampage Jackson vs. Matt "The Hammer" Hamill

This one is a toss up for me. I think if Rampage is motivated enough, he could possibly manage a KO victory or a decision. He is the favorite in this fight. But, I could easily see it as a ground fight with Hamill winning the decision. I'm going with Rampage, though.

Co-Main Event:

Frank Mir vs. Roy "Big Country" Nelson

Another toss up, just because they both could get a one shot KO. But, I'll go with Big Country for the KO or decision.

Main Card:

Stefan "The Skyscraper" Struve vs. Travis "Hapa" Browne

Hapa will KO Struve. Struve is good, I just think Browne is tougher. It could go either way if it goes to the ground.

Thiago "Pit Bull" Alves vs. Rick "The Horror" Story

I'd like to see Thiago Alves rise up again, the Pit Bull of old. Story is tough but I think Thiago is the better fighter, and I think he can KO him, or at least win a unanimous decision.

"The All-American" Brian Stann vs. Jorge "The Sandman" Santiago

Brian Stann is pretty good on his feet, he hits hard, and Memorial Day is like his Christmas. His win over Chris Leben was over hyped, granted it is tough to knock the guy out. But, he has been KO'd and submitted, and Santiago could do both of those things. Santiago is good all around and explosive. I'm going with him for the finish.

Prelims. on Spike:

Miguel Angel Torres vs. Demetrius "Mighty Mouse" Johnson

I've only seen Johnson fight once when he was in the WEC, against Damacio Page. I believe if Torres is pumped enough he will win. I see him counter-striking for a decision, or perhaps earlier with a submission.

Kendall "Da Spyder" Grove vs. Tim "The Barbarian" Boetsch

This is Boetsch's first fight in Middleweight, they're both coming off of a loss, Grove's lost belonging to Demian Maia. I think Grove will win if he's tough enough, and probably win by decision

I'm pulling for Matt Hamill. That dude is a beast and has done alot better in the UFC than alot of people thought he would. If he connects with Rampage's chin, dude is goin to sleep quick. However, Rampage hits just as hard. If it goes to the ground, I think Hamill will dominate.

Hate both of these guys, so I'm hoping for a dual knockout and neither of them win. They could both kill eachother and I wouldn't care.

Main Card:

Don't care who wins this fight.

Thiago KO in the first round.

Always pulling for Stan. Like the way he fights, and is a fellow military member so HUA!

I think if it stays on the feet, Stan will get a KO. On the ground is a different story.

Pulling for Boetsch, cause I really don't like Kendall, although I think Kendall will dominate this fight and win by sub.

Lame...Brock isnt fighting in the finale. He had part of his colon removed yesterday so Shane Carwin is replacing him.

Oh, and I was WAY off in the Boetsch fight lol.

Wow, that was my worst prediction yet. Well, I won 2/3 of my bets, so there's a bright side for me.

I was a bit upset with the Thiago Alves fight, though...

That KO by Travis Browne was flawless.

It has been awhile...

Orias and I went to UFC Live on Versus 5 in Milwaukee this past Sunday.

For those who are Dan Hardy fans; "HAHA". I haven't look into it myself, but anyone think he's getting cut after being dominated by GSP, one-shotted by Condit, man-handled by Anthony Johnson, and then being submitted (like he said he would never be) by Chris Lytle?

I certainly hope so. (As you can tell, I'm not a Hardy fan.)

Ben Henderson handed Jim Miller a serious defeat, it was kind of a shame that he couldn't finish the job though. Ben Henderson really proved himself to UFC fans. I hope Jim Miller learns and gets better because of this fight. I still think that he has the potential for another top contender spot.

I'm going to miss Chris Lytle, but he went out quite nicely, gaining 130,000 in bonuses, and a brand new Harley.

Oh yeah, we got to meet Clay Guida...and get his autograph and picture of course...poor Clay...he just wanted to go watch the fights.

There were a lot of nice submissions in the event, I have to add.

As for the next card, its Anderson Silva v. Yushin Okami and Shogun v. Forrest Griffin.

I think Okami is going to get KTFO, although there still remains some shred of hope that he goes down. Okami's win over Silva was because Silva illegally up-kicked him, knocking him out.

I heard Shogun was training his wrestling, which I think he's going to need. I don't really know who may win this one, and I don't really care.

I don't watch as much UFC as I used to some years back. MMA these days is just glorified pit fighting.....can't wear a Gi, but you must wear fingerless gloves....it's like they're tweaking the recipe to get the kind of fight that excites the crowd, rather than testing who would more likely win in a real fight.

Anyway, enough of the rant...I'm not a Dan Hardy fan either, anymore than I was a fan of that other overhyped Brit - Michael Bisping, but I did not see the same fight you watched when I finally seen their match on a re-broadcast yesterday. Hardy needs to learn more skills, especially get better with the kicks. He stopped using them to avoid takedowns, but he actually didn't do too bad on the ground against an experienced grappler. I'll give him credit for going for a longshot near the end of round 3, when he made a surprise lunge in to try to take down Lytle. That may have been a stupid move, but it showed that Hardy wasn't willing to run out the clock and risk losing by a decision. I'll give him credit for that; and I doubt Dana White is going to cut him. For one thing, he's a Brit, and we've already established the fact that UFC is so desperate to make money in England that they will hype anyone with a British accent. And Dan Hardy is a crowd pleaser. He's not going to turtle if he gets hurt, and he won't sit back and go for an easy win on a decision - he'll keep pressing the action. To me, he kind of looks like another guy who's a crowd favourite even though he loses a lot of fights - Chris Leben.

Ben Henderson handed Jim Miller a serious defeat, it was kind of a shame that he couldn't finish the job though. Ben Henderson really proved himself to UFC fans. I hope Jim Miller learns and gets better because of this fight. I still think that he has the potential for another top contender spot.
I never saw much of Jim Miller before this fight, but the one thing that really surprised me was his poor strategy. I don't know if it was his coaches, or he just did not want to fight standup, but he spent way too long and expended way too much energy trying to go for submissions. If they don't work in the first round, they're not likely to work later in the fight when they're tired and the other guy is covered in sweat....that's where the Judo Gi really came in handy for the first round of MMA stars like Royce Gracie.

Since Miller was apparently one fight away from a title shot, this makes Ben Henderson look like a potential champion, even in a competitive division. He has the size, speed and strength, and appears to be a very good all around fighter with few weaknesses.
