people choose who they want to lead them so they can blame their leader and not have to take on responsibility for something or complain to them about something.
there are both good and bad leader's like Pope John Paul 11 and Quantrell, which namesake was changed to cantrell here in the ozark mountains by those not wishing to be identified with him. i know several.

we have had good popes and bad popes good presidents and bad ones, etc.

it's charisma that makes a leader. even clinton was likeable.

I am confused, Trish...In another thread (re: Islamic terrorism), you write " the only true form of governing thats perfect is the infallability of Popedom."
You describe the Pope as a representative of God. How do you reconcile your views that there have been "bad Popes" and the idea that the Pope, is the representative of God & is infallabile? Lastly, the Pope is not elected by the people but a few, very select clergy who themselves have been appointed to their position (again not by the Faithful masses).

civilcynic indeed. even tho we have had some weak or "bad" popes, they never decreed anything in Divine conflict with God regarding papal bulls on morals, faith and dogma. otherwise they were fallible. infallibility comes from our Lord in Second Person.

the Holiest person on earth is usually the Pope. there are many holy people like cardinals, Mother Angelica of EWTN fame, and many priests and bishops. the holiest usually become cardinals which elect the Pope. Holiness comes from God and the Pope settles differences between cultures and God's chosen. A Bishop must have a doctorates degree, which means they must have at least four years of philosophy, six years of theology and some common sense. every Bishop meets with the Pope at least once every ten years. our Bishop is going this year i think november. in the last visit the pope stated that he knew what a Bible was and what a belt was, but asked what a Biblebelt was. can't wait to hear about his next visit. we live in the ozark hills which is similar to those in the land of Judah where Jesus lived most of his life.

So, those Popes who were immoral in their personal lives and did 'evil' things within their own lives were still representatives of God and infallable because they did not decree any edicts that went against God's will? In essence, the motto "Do as I preach not as I do" more or less allowed them to be an infallible representative of God....sorry, don't buy it.

there are different types of sin as well as kinds. some are worse than others. some separate u from ure Lord. that's why we go to confession to be forgiven and advised on how to not make that mistake again. and we make an act of contrition and resolve to never sin again. we are forgiven thru the Holy Spirit and are perfect when we leave the confessional untill we sin again. once a certain sin is comitted it usually becomes a habit and so we return to confession to seek more counsel and be forgiven. our penance is some type of prayer, act or reading. according to some fundamentalist protestants every sin is as bad as the next. then why do we feel worse about some sins than others. if u have lied a thousand times, i'm sure you aren't derranged like a murderer, especially if he had killed a thousand people unjustly. the only just murder is in a war, wherefore negotiations have failed. even though we have had weak popes, no one is sinless but Jesus and his Mother. therefore we try to elect the holiest person, or one who seldom sins. u know even a just man sins seven times a day. that's what makes us fallible and why we need someone to be infallible, on religious beliefs, taditions, and celebrations. think about. why do u think charles manson is in jail and not the white house.

Actually, there is nothing in the bible which says that Mary was sinless or that she was born without original sin...just thought you should know.

there are many truths revealed to us that are not in the Bible. i've had a few supernatural revelations myself. this is the 21 first century. let's pray together that all God's people will unite and make it a much better world. we are all hypocrites as we have all sinned. when u come out of confession, ure perfect til u sin again, and even the just man sins seven times a day. purge yourself before u r purged.

by the way, st. mary of agreda only had original sin on her soul which was washed away by baptism. try reading her book, city of God. it's an eye opener.

leaders are ment to be questioned.... if they cant tell you why their idea is the best one then it isn't the best one. And a good leader is the one that looks at all the ideas and takes the best one, eaven if it isn't thier idea. A good leader doesn't have a big ego.
