Masturbation is best outside of a commited relationship. Ultra promiscouity isn't fufilling and is very risky.
But we do master the pesky natural desires we don't just go where we want. We use restrooms and yes you can be locked up or made to pay a fine if you take a leak on the side of the road.
Breathing you master as well if you can swim under water or perhaps have a fragrant friend.
You do not need to stop all your natural desires but be able to control them when necessary.

I will play devils advocate. Now keep in mind I do not think masturbation or sex before marriage a sin. I do not even believe in sin, but I did at one point in time when I was a super-conservative Christian.
Maturbation is easily made a sin since Jesus stated to lust after a woman (who was not your wife) is to commit adultry in your heart and it is just as evil. So what are you thinking about when you jerk off? Roses? Lollipops? Blowfish? (Yes, pun inteneded on the last one). I dare say you are thinking of women. I could go into more detail but I think you get the point.

Masturbation is a good thing for those that need release. At some point in our spiritual advancement it will need to be disgarded altogether along with sex. You see in my beliefs our consciousness is tied to the body and not spirit because of our desires and our identification on subtle levels. When we are ready to take that next step towards truly knowing God and spirit we must become more controlled over our desires. Sex should be limited in use to those seeking God because the vital fluid in our sex organs is a huge source of vital energy. If over indulged with it can sap our happiness and in turn make us dull and it makes bliss harder to experience in meditation.

Considering that I think sex is the greatest physical pleasure possible, I don't think I will ever want to discard it. If I can't achieve bliss, know God and spirit, well so much the worse for bliss, God, spirit, and all of that. I can't imagine ever wanting to give up sex or even diminish the need for sexual release. I shun any religion or spiritual philosophy which asks or even makes this kind of demand on me.
This is also one reason I utterly detest the Judeo-Christian concept of "Heaven". In heaven, there's no romance, no affection, no hard-kissing, no hand-holding, no sexual intimacy or any kind of sexual pleasure. In the grotesque "Heaven" of Christian fundamentalists and Evangelists, all believers are unmarried, celibate prudes for eternity, worshipping a being who demands this kind of deathly creepy and repulsive celibacy.
If this is "Heaven", then who needs "Hell"?

Although I see your point I must add how deprived we are as humans for not being able to resolve our desire to swim upstream to lay our eggs. That is a driving force for salmon. Do you miss that desire? Of course not, just as we could easily live without sex if we did not have that driving desire. I do love sex, but life without it would not be Hell if we do not have the drive.

Well you will eventually get tired of it just as everything becomes tiresome. When you realize that God's bliss is the only lasting happiness for you, you will realize that sex doesn't compare to it. Sex leaves you wanting more since it's temporary and it only leaves you moody and agitated after a while. Especially if abused. Not to mention it leaves you tired and unenergetic. The sex drive is there to test your will, but it also the polar opposite of God's bliss. There are similar spiritual experiences that can compare to sex but it is obviously more pure.

I strongly disagree with masturbation because you are killing life. Basically its murder in my eyes. Why? Because you just took away potential beings an opportunity to live. That is why i believe its wrong. And how can you sit there and masturbate without thinking of someone or a private part? To pleasure yourself that way to me is sin and that leads to other sinful acts. Thats why its a sin in my eyes. Its no different then abortion to me. Its just as equal. Idc who disagrees but my point is very valid to many.

How can you compare a menstrual cycle or noctyrnal emission (which is natural and uncontrollable) to masturbation (which is controllable)? I guess I just don't get that response.

According to his "logic" every menstrual cycle is a potential life that failed.
If the women does not take every measure to impregnate herself with EVERY single egg released, she has killed a potential life.
The same goes for every sperm that does not fertilize an egg.
