If God exists why is he hiding?

St Giordano Bruno

I just feel if God really does exist, his existence, if it is that important to us, it should be a lot more intuitive than it is. Couldn't he have created evidence of his existence much much clearer than it is if he/she/it exists? Evidence as clear to us as the existence of the moon. He would not punish us for doubting the existence of the moon so why should he punish us for an entity which is far more obscure?

I don't think it is hiding itself, I believe God is like a force that exists in the spiritual or mental realm (I don't know which one yet, need to test). But God is not hiding, we just don't feel it in this regular life as good as we do in the Light.

Why would He? I mean why should He care if we believe in Him or not.

He would not punish us for doubting the existence of the moon so why should he punish us for an entity which is far more obscure?

Only a few religions say that He does.

In my beliefs god is the" essence of life" So why some wish to personify the conept I can only say that god is life. You are life. You experinece god and he is realized. How you percieve god or how you place him is found in your own objectivity!

There is many evidence for those who really want to find the Truth

There is also our in-built natural disposition to believe in our Creator

God also gave us an advanced intellect which functions at the abstract level, and through logical thinking, reading and learning a seeker of truth can easily find God

He sent us His Messengers and Prophets to guide us to His Path, and He sent us His Revelations and Divine Books

What more do we need?

The proof at the time they lived was through the miracles God allowed them to perform

The proof for us today is through the Message they conveyed:

I believe most of the messages the prophets conveyed to be true. Love being the purest truth, and the main purpose for life. But where are the miracles today? Where are the prophets to turn stone into bread to feed the starving people throughout the world? The prophets to heal the cancer that takes so many people's loved ones every day? Could the stories passed on have become misconstrued, even exaggerated to the point of gandiose delusion?

I don't believe that god is "hiding" per se. I believe that we are simply too coarse in our awareness to perceive God directly. I don't know what others are into, but rather than waiting around for God to "prove his existence" or "manifest himself" to me, I believe that I should concentrate my attention and raise my consciousness to refined enough wavelengths were I can begin to perceive him.

By asking if god is hiding, are you referring to an anthropomorphic deity that has specific characteristics or belongs to a certain religion? It's hard to ask that question because the term god is so vague and abstract it can mean anything. I don't think god/gods are hiding because I think they are just psychological projections and exist only in the beliefs of religions. If there is a god that punishes us for simple lack of belief due to lacking evidence and the idea that you have to have "faith" and look for him, then that is no god at all. More like a petty tyrant.

I don't think God is hiding but perhaps our minds are so limited we simply cannot comprehend. We may not find God physically with a telescope or some measuring tool. Philosophers and cosmologist throughout the ages have believed that the cosmos and life as we experience are like residue of design. I agree with Quagmire why should God care whether we see him or not? So we can say A ha! You do exist!

the existence of God could be evident in several ways with several degrees of influence .

Perception of existence of God differs from religion to another , this depends on the religion itself whether it discusses the evidences using accurate scientific and logical facts , or historical events which can be proved scientifically. Or it depends only on metaphysics and power of fluent words

It also depends on the religion how it defines God , is it an imagined idea created in human mind ,or it is a real existence which can/cannot be sure of

Otherwise , finding evidences of God or Supreme Intelligence is not difficult , and no need for religions for this purpose. Sciences , mathematics , philosophy , engineering of creations , causes and effect s, human intelligence , discoveries , are clear and more than enough .

Finding the evidences of God is an instinct in man , produces needs and requirements , just like needs for food , water , and sex. for that it's very important for man , and created or believed in many doctrines and religions through the history

God wants man to find him, and one of the most purposes of man existence is finding God . but why ?

God also gave us an advanced intellect which functions at the abstract level, and through logical thinking, reading and learning a seeker of truth can easily find God

He sent us His Messengers and Prophets to guide us to His Path, and He sent us His Revelations and Divine Books

Do you know why ?

Do you need faith to live on a message or can it be confirmed alone, without faith and without the message if needs be?

Why depend on the senses to prove God to you. The senses can be tricked and misled, just go to the cinema and you will see :)

The evidence is so clear that it cannot be missed. It is literally under your nose. The miracle of life, of your own very existence cannot be refuted. We can try to limit it with science and draw our investigation to a close with statistics, but science and statistics still remain limited, your existence is not.

I think it would be more important not to believe in false gods so no gods is a safe bet in that case considering all the possibilities proposed from various religions. I doubt god would want us gambling on which god we think is true. In the mean time I await more positive confirmation.

If we exist, why do we hide from God?

Um, we don't? Unless god is incapable of seeing us, how are we hiding from god? If he exists by most theist's definition, he can clearly see that we exist. Yet the opposite is not true. Your attempt to turn the table is empty.

A few flaws...
1) why should god care if you believe?
2) if the point is to have faith, then conclusive evidence would ruin the point.
3) (assuming it exists) Why should god make it easy for you to get into heaven rather than hell?

as an aside, the concept of eternal punishment is actually uncommon amongst religions.
