Conventional scientists don't believe in mind, free will or consciousness

Hi all :)

Did you know that conventional scientists don't believe in mind, spirit, free will or consciousness? Many people believe that humans, only are biological beings, or if you will robots, with no soul and no consciousness? Did you know that the existence of consciousness has been proven by quantum physics and parapsychology? But still many people are in denial of this fact.

I want to share an article with you about these things. It's an interesting article.

Readers stunned to learn that conventional scientists don't believe in mind, spirit, free will or consciousness

And I highly recommend, a mini-documentary about God, free will and consciousness.

What are your thoughts and opinions about this documentary? It would be interesting to hear your thoughts and opinions?

There are scientists hard at work trying to pinpoint the exact nature of this topic.

Several of them are convinced the soul does continue on.
They're just not sure how to prove it.

Quantum particles are now thought to effect both sides of the brain...
without an apparent physical connection.

One anesthesiologist is searching for that portion that connects the
spirit to the body...the consciousness to the waking hour.

Science does not remove believing.
Science will someday bolster faith.

Spirit, as in some ethereal "soul", is indeed lacking in any real evidence.
However, can you show where "conventional scientists" don't believe in free will? Or consciousness? Or mind?

Minds and consciousness are studied subjects within psychology (the study of the mind) and the neurosciences. Pick up a book on evolutionary psychology and see how far you get without minds being mentioned.

Free-will seems to be a mostly philosophical debate as science doesn't have many tools to prod that particular beasty.

In short, bollocks!

Are you saying that Quantum Physics is a pseudo science?

Please explain what you mean.

well i'm afraid so when mixing it with parapsychology which is considered a pseudoscience.
in other words, it's like using carbon dating to prove the earth is 6,000 yrs old...

Pseudoscience is a claim, belief, or practice which is presented as scientific, but which does not adhere to a valid scientific method, lacks supporting evidence or plausibility, cannot be reliably tested, or otherwise lacks scientific status.

So, Samurai, Mike Adams seems to lie slightly more often about science and scientists than the Catholic Church lies about who it's priests are raping this month. Consequently, I've got a question for you. I'm not going to try to change your mind because, frankly, I think you're happy where your at, but I'm just curious. Do you understand yourself well enough to tell me why you believe a man like Mike Adams? What makes you want to submit yourself to his world view? And are you likely to do that with other people as well?

Sounds alot like wishful thinking.

How about psychology?
It is the science of mind and behavior.
And since when scientists ( in general ) don't believe in consciousness? :sarcastic

I never submit to anyones world view. I have my own belief system, based on my own knowledge, and my own experience.

It seems that you are focusing on the man, instead of the facts. In discussions, some people focus on the person, instead of his teachings. That's because they can not disprove his/her arguments. So instead they start to focus on the man. It seems that you are focusing on the man, instead of his arguments. This is a classic mistake.

It's hard to say which you need to do more, Samurai: study logic or read Nietzsche. If you succeed in studying logic, then you will know when the ad hominen fallacy applies and when it does not apply. For instance, Samurai, an informed person would know the ad hominen does not apply when there is no argument. You accuse of me committing an ad hominen fallacy. It would be so nice of you to back up your brave BS by showing me the argument in which I have committed the ad hominen.

As I said, you should study both logic and Nietzsche. I have already wasted a few moments of my life by telling you the proper use of the ad hominen fallacy -- something you are unlikely to wish to learn. As for Nietzsche, I am certainly not going to waste any more time educating someone who is unlikely to be properly grateful to me for educating them.

There is no evidence of quantum phenomenon in the brain. It is too large, too moist and too warm.
