If you Baptised Your saved??????

Tru but its like some people is waiting for heaven to drop out of the sky and smack em in the face. This is kinda off topic but I just thought of it. Why is it when most people pray they look down? When I pray I look up at all Jah has given at the sky and the endless universe. When I see people looking down its like they cry like they sad. Just a thought.

You don't need the Bible
What is the Bible here for? Just curious...

you don't need church
Well, the Bibel says you need church. Oh yeah , you don't need the Bible.

you dont need baptizm
We have already discussed this. The Bible shows examples of Baptism, it tells us we need to be baptized, and it even shows Jesus being baptized. But, of course, since you don't need the Bible, it's words probably mean nothing to you. And "you don't need Jesus" either. Hmmmmm...well, I do.

But if you have been taught and learn about Jesus and have a bible to know HIM and reject then i dont think u will be forgiven.

But why should we have and/or read this Bible? We don't really need it, do we?

I feel that it is a dangerous thing when people take holy books as literal. Be it Kebra, Bible, Koran etc. None of these books are in my estimation to be taken wholly as literal
Key words: MY estimation.

It is true they contain some historical references but overall they are books of Mythology.
I'm going to need to see some proof for that.

Why is it when most people pray they look down?
They are bowing their heads to show respect and reverance to God. Like, back in Medeival (sp) times, and in some countries today, people would bow when in the presence of a king.

I belive that every thing you need to be "saved" Jah has put in you at birth. You don't need the Bible you don't need church you dont need baptizm i dont even think you need Jesus. All you need is a natural love of the most high. if you have unconditinal love for God then he see this and always love back.
I belive that every thing you need to be "saved" Jah has put in you at birth.

What do we get at our natural birth? We get our sinful nature, our flesh, which is contrary to the Spirit.
Romans 7:18 I know that nothing good lives in me, tht is, in my sinful nature.
John 3:6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to Spirit.

You don't need the Bible you don't need church you dont need baptizm i dont even think you need Jesus.

How can you know what God wants you to do if you don't read your Bible? Why could you not want to read what God has to say?
Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the hbit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
1 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
(I encourage you to read the Acts 4 passage to get the understanding of the context.)
1 John 2:23 No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

All you need is a natural love of the most high. if you have unconditinal love for God then he see this and always love back.

1 John 4:7-12 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves hs been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.

If you would like more Scripture refrences, I will be happy to get them.

I don't know how much store you set by the words of the Bible (no offense meant, or anything) or how much of it you believe to be true, Lion. I know absolutely nothing about RASTAFARI, but here is what is says:

He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
Mark 16:16

Then Peter said to them, Repent and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall recieve the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:38

And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, calling on the name of the Lord.
Acts 22:16

...buried with him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God who raised him from the dead.
Colossians 2:3

Now, if you believe in all that the Bible has to say, as I do, there is no way you can say that baptism is not neccessary.

Well said CG Amen :clap

I just got done reasoning with a Christian friend of mine that was trying to tell I that if you were baptised then you are already saved. They was she put it was that on Judgement day if your baptised then you will have a better chance of getting to heaven then the man who isnt. I would just like your thoughts as Christians on this.
Rasta Love Rule The World

If salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus, then a person who has faith in Jesus will be saved, and get into heaven. There is no favoritism for a baptized or non-baptized believer. The Bible is clear, however, that after entrance into heaven, Christians will be judged for everything that they have done, and will be disciplined accordingly. Hell is not the only discplinary measure at God's disposal.:162:

Interesting. So you believe that everyone who has faith in Christ, regardless of what they do with that faith, with be admitted into Heaven, but that once they are there that God will punish them. What types of punishment do you expect God to hand out in heaven?

Good Golly there's a lot of confusion out theah. First of all when did the thief on the cross get baptised? Or maybe he only made it to Paradise instead of heaven.

Also why did baptism get left out in John 3:18? "[17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
[18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Rastaguy, just believe in Jesus, it's all you need. He will do the rest.

Amen Sandy Whitelinger, amen! There is confusion about baptism. There are verses saying believe and be baptised. But the moment we believe, we are saved, baptism is a step of obedience, and outward profession of our faith, symbolic that we HAVE been burried in death with Christ and are now alive in Him, new creatures, born again. It is a confusion among many, but the blood of Christ washes away our sins, not water. Folks who believe that salvation is found in their church only and only in its ordinances and rituals, for example the Catholic or Mormon church (which I love them), but they believe they are the only true church, and add works to the free gift of salvation instead as a result of that great salvation. So, instead of 'He that believes in me hath eternal life', they say he that believes, is baptised, is layed hands on, goes through temple ceremonies, or sacraments, and does good works all their life, might be saved if they work hard enough, no guarantee. But its only through their church and there's alone, that people are saved. Well, I say it is through CHRIST ALONE, period. I was baptized, believe one should attend church to grow and fellowship, and worship God, and to serve Him. But not to get or keep saved, God saves us, God keeps us.

Rastaguy, I will say this, the Bible makes it clear that we all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God. That the penalty for sin is death (in Hell), but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus. We MUST accept Jesus as our saviour. We have to believe that his death on the cross paid for all our sins, that he gave us his righteousness, so that we may stand in the presence of God Almighty and not be consumed. For God cannot allow sin in his presence, our goodness is not enough, we must trust in what Jesus did on the cross to go to Heaven. A person can pray, something like, Jesus, I admit I am a sinner and cannot make it to Heaven on my own goodness. I believe you died on the cross to pay for my sins, and accept your gift of eternal life. Thank-you for saving me. If you pray that, or feel that in your heart, then I believe you were born again, and are saved to the uttermost.

If I insulted anyone or anything with this post, I apologize, that is just my belief.

Sincerely,

Joeboonda

I'm not sure what the disciplinary measure are, but Paul continually warns Christians to live their lives like God will judge them.

2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
