So, This Is My Question for Believers...

...and I don't mean to harm anyone's feelings. I am genuinely curious about this. So my legitimate questions are:

For the people who were readily waiting for God to arrive today (May 21st)--- How do you deal when the time comes and nothing happens? Basically, why do you guys think nothing ever took place? Perhaps God postponed plans, had mysterious reasons or we simply made the wrong calculations...again?
Are you willing to believe another prediction again in the future, since this one is (apparently) not happening either?

I ask because considering that you were readily available and anxiously waiting for God's arrival, in a sense, it feels like God stood you up.

So, how do you manage this situation? Why didn't he come?

Thanks for reading.

I'm pretty sure most believers didn't take this prophecy seriously. Heck, the Bible actually declares that no one really knows the hour of the apocalypse except God the Father.

I hate to disappoint you, but I wasn't expecting Him to come today. As Riverwolf stated, we believe that no one knows the time or day.

I don't think there is currently anybody on this forum who believes in the May 21st thing.

Thats what they say every time the rapture prediction comes and goes ;)

Christianity got around this common problem of doomsday cults by refusing to specify the end of the world is due. This allows them to maintain that the rapture is going to occur at some point therefore people better do what they say in the meantime without having to go through the embarressment of the rapture not happening at the expected time.

Why any decent moral person would want the rapture to happen is beyond me.

From what I gather, the Christians who believe in the Rapture are in the minority. Unfortunately, they also tend to be the loudest ones. And given that the human mind is more likely to recognize repeated statements over proven facts as proof, sometimes they actually get to people.

Basically, every group has their nutjobs, and a lot of nutjobs draw a lot of attention.
