This movie was mediocre. It was well-acted by both Angelina Jolie and Liev Schreiber, and the general plot was interesting, but the story became a bit ridiculous along the way. And the movie didn't clean up loose ends very well- there were parts that seemed important and then were just dropped rather anticlimactically.

Summer Wars
This was a pretty decent anime movie. Great animation, good voice work, and an interesting plot. There were a fair amount of anime cliches, though. An interesting disappointment was that the movie had both great characters, and little character development. I'd expect to either see great characters AND character development, or a lack of both, but oddly this has great characters that don't really develop much during the story, except for maybe one of the supporting characters. The main ones stay fairly static.

Gangs of New York
This one has been out for a while. It has really interesting imagery and good directing, and an interesting and original plot. The villain, played by Daniel Day-Lewis, pretty much holds this film together. The movie wouldn't have been very good without this excellent and well-acted villain. The ending could have been a bit sharper, though, and the movie could have been shortened a bit (it's nearly 3 hours long).

Bill "The Butcher" Cutting is probably my favorite villain type character of any movie.

It's wierd tho, the first time I tried to watch it, i made it 15 minutes and turned it off I was so bored. It wasn't what I was expecting. However, a friend made me sit through it, and after seeing it now some 9 or 10 times, it has become one of my top 5 favorites.

Oh, and Daniel Day-Lewis is one of the finest actors in Hollywood. He is amazing in just about every movie he does.

I got to see Tangled, which I've wanted to see for a while now.

I liked it a lot! The animation was beautiful, the dialogue was pretty sharp, and parts of the movie made me both laugh and cry a little. The climax was rather unexpected and good as well. I really liked the Disney movies from the 90's such as Lion King, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast, and this one is on par with them.

If there are downsides, it's that the movie is a bit cliche and the plot is rather straightfoward. It's not exactly intellectual material, nor are they re-inventing the wheel with the second highest ever movie budget to date (higher than Avatar or any of the Harry Potter movies). But it kind of needs to be this way so that it appeals to people of all ages, since it's a family Disney film.

Man Bites Dog. Fairly ****** up Belgian mockumentary/dark comedy about a film crew following around a serial killer. Had its moments but it wasn't my cup of tea.

Draka

Wonder Woman
Finally watched Resident Evil: Afterlife last week. I can't ever say anything bad about those movies. One of my all-time favorite movie series. Absolutely love them. Can't wait for the next one.

I really enjoyed the first two, the third one seemed like a completely different film series. I might watch the new one, is it more like the first two or the third?

It's direct flow from the previous one. Takes up exactly where the last left off. I will say it's a lot more "Matrix" in its effects than I had realized it would be. It may be because it was designed to be 3D, but there's quite a bit of "bullet-time" and in-your-face zombie action. Not to mention that Wesker just seemed to exude Agent Smith from his pores. I did love it though. Kept me paying attention and jumping from paying too much attention. Pretty kick-***.

Sharktopus- Eric Roberts+shark+octopus=awesome!

Swamp shark- Kristy Swanson. Nuff said.

Limitless- better than I expected. note:had no expectations.

Insidious- Worst movie ever but best darth maul cameo.

The Eagle- worth a watch but not worth a trip to the theatre.

Paul- Hilarious. Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Seth Rogan, Jason Bateman, Sigourney Weaver. cast alone makes it worth watching.

Scream 4- Another scream movie. It holds up if you liked the other ones.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Gotta see Thor - Kenneth Branaugh, Anthony Hopkins - it's gotta be good. I think I'll go see it this weekend!

Just watched "The Nines" last night with Ryan Renolds. Killer movie but super confusing at the beginning, and sort of twisted. One of those movies that get all messed up if you miss like 30 seconds of it.

One of my favorite movies, Melissa McCarthy is one of my favorite actresses and Ryan Reynolds is dead sexy. You're absolutely right about watching every second of this movie.

We saw "Thor" last night. It was stupid but fun! Not all movie experiences have to be intellectually stimulating when you've got a hottie like Chris Hemsworth onscreen...

I saw Limitless. It was ok.

And I saw Prince of Persia. This movie was kind of bad, but Jake Gyllenhaal is really hot, and there was rum available, so it turned out ok.
