The Trinity in Islam

There is some reference to the Holy Trinity given in the Koran.

5:116
And (remember) when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): "O 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unto men: 'Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?' " He will say: "Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my innerself though I do not know what is in Yours, truly, You, only You, are the AllKnower of all that is hidden and unseen.

4:171
O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of Allah aught but the truth. The Messiah 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), was (no more than) a Messenger of Allah and His Word, ("Be!" - and he was) which He bestowed on Maryam (Mary) and a spirit (Ruh) created by Him; so believe in Allah and His Messengers. Say not: "Three (trinity)!" Cease! (it is) better for you. For Allah is (the only) One Ilah (God), Glory be to Him (Far Exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is AllSufficient as a Disposer of affairs.
Dont these verses tell the muslims not to believe in the trinity? It seems pretty clear to me.

Paul found there were some believers in Corinth who did not believe in the resurrection of the dead for Jesus because they were true believers of Jesus as a man and they didn't believe that he may raise from the dead. (1 Corinthians 15:12-19)

12Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

13But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:

14And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

15Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.

16For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:

17And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

18Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

In verses 13-19, Paul tells of the dire consequences for the believers if Christ is not risen from the dead. Christians read statements such as: If Christ be not risen then is our preaching vein, and your faith is also vein. We are false witnesses (liars) because we testified that Cod raised up Christ, whom he raised not up if the dead rise not. If Christ be not raised your faith is vein, you are yet in your sins. Those who have fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

Quran said: “And concerning their saying, 'We killed the Messiah Jesus son of Mary, Allah's Messenger.' They killed him not, nor crucified, but it appeared so to them. Indeed those who disagree concerning it are in doubt about it. They have no (true) knowledge about it except that they follow conjecture. Surely, they did not kill him. But Allah did take him up unto Himself. Allah is ever Mighty, Wise.”
(An-Nisaa’: 157-158)

So, If you believe in islam like that i congratulate you that you believed in Quran and that Jesus is not crucified nor killed and that he didn't raise from the dead. So, your christian faith is in vain and miserable because you didn't believe that he was resurected from the dead as Quran said.

Therefore, Jesus is not God because most of christian believe that he became a god after the resurection and he was a man before that. So, if he is not a god so there is no trinity.

i have no time now to check your reffrence but i promise you that i'll come later on.

peace be upon you brother Montalban.:)

Lookling in from the outside, it would appear that it is very difficult to reach any agreement ---even very polite and thoughtful people---when the text they argue about is itself inconsistent and confused---as all holy scriptures are and always have been.

So, i sit here wondering what is the point of it all. While we agonize over two thousand year old problems, the human race is multiplying around us too fast and we are becoming crowded. We are messing up the environment. We are obsessed with old beliefs when we should be working together to smooth over religious differnces and focus on worldly problems. We need to expand space exploration and colonize planets. We need a better moral code. We need a whole world-view that exclused ancient dogma and hedonistic secular humanism. We need to meet great challenges to our species. We've come so far, lets keep going rather than fall back obsorbed with nostalgia.

Trinity is one of those concepts that stretched too far snaps in one's face. Every religion possesses a 'trinity', but this does not imply 'partners with God'. The trinity really expressed is:
God: Who gives the Message to His Messenger, through the Manifestation of God's Holy Spirit.
God=Giver of the Gift
Holy Spirit=The Gift in the form of God's Revelation
Apostle of God= Who receives the Revelation.

This expresses the Trinity without attributing equality with God Who remains always the Source of All Being to anything else.
