Are eggs vegetarian?

Generally eggs are allowed only if you are certain they are not fertilized. thus eggs from a farm are not allowed but eggs in the supermarket in developed countries are. If I went to a developing country I would not eat eggs because htey may be fertilized. Personally, I'm beginning to question whether I should be eating root vegetables and using antibiotics.

No.

Eggs, fish and meat are non veg.

Dairy, vegetables, fruit, grain, root etc is veg.

Haribol ;)

Hey prabhuji, have you tried "black salt"? It has a high sulphur content and so when put on your prasadam creates an uncannily good egg flavour. To the extent that an avocado sandwich with black salt (we call it egg salt) tastes just like eggs.........

well, actually, my friend makes tofu eggs... using a mixture of soft tofu, flour, black salt, tumeric, and then fries it in oil, and it made a wonderful fake-eggs. :D

If only I could make them like her.

I know I will destroy the joy of egg eating, for all those who read this... still... it needs to be said.

In the modern practice of industrial farming. When egg laying chicks are being hatched. All the male chicks are of no use. So they are just discarded. Sometimes they are put in grinders or just thrown away in plastic bags and die by slow suffocation. The death of these animals are not monitored in any way. The whole thing is quite ugly.
This is why I stopped eating eggs. Baby chickens being minced up just for being male makes me feel ill.

Heheheh... well, scrambled paneer is okay, but it does get kind of hard if not eaten in the first five minutes.

But man, paneer is the BOMB!! :eat: If I had the monies to buy paneer and eat that all the time, I would never miss eggs!

Ishvara-prasadam ki jai! :D

Yep, paneer oh paneer  It's pretty easy to make paneer from milk - and fun... try it, it's really not so expensive if you have a good milk supply... :)

I did once... it took too much effort, honestly. Plus, we can buy paneer from the store, so why should we make it? :p Milk is very very expensive here in Canada.

Mm... I love rasgullahs, ras malai, sandesh... soo delish!!

And then you can make paneer steaks, palak paneer, mattar paneer, paneer masala, paneer pakora, and whatnot... :eat:

Eggs are a female by-product ---butt egg eaters do think of that.
Luck-of-the-draw also determines wheater egg-eaters eat a "bad-egg" --ie mentally or physically deformed offspring [that would only be known if the "thang" was allowed to be "Born".

I am so proud that you egg-eaters & my culture of people that I grew up in limit their diet to such reproductive by-products to only the female ingredients.

...............................
To rid a vice ---one must replace the vice with a "higher-taste".

Prasadam elevates the human palate to a "higher-taste" ---this is what fixed my resolve to stay vegetarian since I was 19 years old.

best regards,
Bhaktajan
