Exactly.

I didn't write these articles up. I got them from my Watchtower Library CD. This "information" has been accumulated through the research of the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses. I make no claim that they are correct in any way since they supply no references to check them out in many circumstances. The paranoia "theme" and "feel" from these documents all come from the authors of the documents for they truly believe that the enemy angel of God, who is both Satan and Devil is misleading the entire inhabited earth.
If the info you post is "incorrect" - why post it in the first place?

If you're not one of us, don't agree with us, denounce us, contradict us, and after all that, use material from the Watchtower Library CD as backup in your threads - and then say it is all innaccurate?! What are you trying to achieve here? Do you have an agenda? Hardly a thread goes by where you don't quote from the NWT and bring up "Jehovah's Witnesses" and your versions of their "beliefs".

People, this individual does not know anything about our core beliefs - it's all his/her own biased opinions and interpretations of everything. I all I ask you is to not allow "t3gah" be a reflection on who we are. "T3gah" has already admitted that he/she was an "ex-JW" (supposedly) - so what is he/she doing trying to represent us? Think about it. The fact is, is that the individual is trying to discredit us. He/she has already turned turned threads which have nothing to do with JW (i.e. Festive celebrations, Santa) into anti-JW threads by the end of it. Coincidence? Not at all.

A true JW would never start threads like "Santa is an agent of Satan the Devil" - we respect people and their beliefs, but would never condemn them outright in this fashion - that is just pure disrespect to the people on this board. I disagree with MUCH of the "factual" statements that "T3gah" has to say about us - and I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses! He is spending much of his own personal time on this board discrediting us with nothing to lose or gain - a motive? Of course: To divert the truth.

P.S. If you have a question to ask about JW, direct them at ME - not somebody who claims to know what we talk about. ;)

the documents posted are from a Watchtower Library CD the views are not mine
t3gah, I'm a bit confused as to why you would post all of these things if you don't agree with them. Is it because you want to help denounce them?

Let me do some research on that and get back to you on this thread, ok? :)
I'd really rather you answer Ceridwen's quite honest and insightful question about why you are posting these things. If you're doing so just to denounce another religion, it's insulting to us and it's insulting to JW's.

Question for WitnessofJah - Are the articles which t3gah is posting, regardless of his reasoning for posting them, reflective of the beliefs of JWs? I don't know how to gain access to the Watchtower Library and so could not check for myself. Is this his personal interpretation or is some of it genuine?

Sure, why not? All things can be used for the glory of God. But in all honesty, I feel that it's a matter of personal conscience. Personally, I have no problem with celebrating Halloween although I'll admit that I rarely do anymore. :p

I see nothing "morally wrong" with passing out candy, dressing up my kid, and having some good clean fun. I don't really care if it was started as a pagan ritual or something. I'm not the one out there sacrificing goats on Halloween or anything, so I don't feel that I'm sinning.

Hmm...not sure I would trust a goat with someone who's other goat "mysteriously disappeared". If you can prove to me that you can have a goat and keep him past November, then we'll talk.

Politically Incorrect
Holloween is a fun and games day. To take it more seriously than that is to need some kind of therapy. I suppose the Wickans will object to the negative stereotypes but those would be signing on to the politcal correctness that plagues our society. If I play pagan for a day it doesn't detract one bit from my Christianity. They tried to ban it here in Washington State and became the laughing stock of society.

I can't believe almsot %50 said no... what the heck do you guys want to do? Havbe your kids hate you so they do nothing but reject all the IMPORTANT stuff you are trying to tell them?

I see this so often with super-conservative Christians. They nitpick on the little thigns so much that the children i nteh famiyl grow up despising a lot of what they are supposed to believe. Let's concentrate on what's IMPORTANT, and not try to take away a fun and harmless night like Halloween.

I think Halloween is mostly for the kids to have fun, but I light candles and remember the ones in my family that have passed on.

I do believe that your assumptions are wrong. Please look again at the poll question. "Is Halloween wrong for a Christian?" not the Topic Question of the thread "Should a Christian celebrate Halloween?" Your mistake should be crystal clear now.

Spell it out to me, I don't see much of a difference.

The poll question is 'is Halloween wrong for a question'? The half that said no are saying it's not wrong, whereas the title of the thread is 'should a Christian celebrate Halloween.' See? :)

Halloween is not evil as long as you don't make it into something evil. For example, it is a sin to make Halloween into a time to worship Satan. It is a sin to vandalize other's property on Halloween. But if the kids are just having some good innocent, candy-eating fun, I don't believe there is a problem with it.

I think most of the celebration Christians do now were done by Pagans, example Santa, Chrismas on Dec 25th with no proof etc.

Santa was started by the Coca Cola company a little over a century ago. Not by pagans.

It doesn't matter if we're using those days to celebrate, as long as we are not wroshipping Pagan gods on those days or doing Pagan activities. If we are using those days for family time, we could actually make them something good.
