Lets see, an abuser of drugs, a political nutcase, and a player who used his hand instead of his foot to seal the fate of world cups, placed infront of a man of character and a social advocate :D
hehe someone had to get this out of the way ;) and having said that, I still remember fondly the 86' world cup in Mexico and the huge part Maradona played in it, even though I was a kid at the time. I think Pele is considered the greater man, whatever that means, however Maradona also played great football, and other than for his native nation, did wonders for Italy's Napoli when playing there.

I never saw either of them play, so it's hard for me to say. Obviously, it seems that Pele is the best person in general, and from what I've heard and seen, it seems that he was the best player, too, but I don't have a well-founded opinion on the subject.

I like Maradonna better. What a player. Pele always strikes me as a bit stiff. LOL just remembered having seen him advertise viagra - maybe that's why!

I heard Maradonna interviewed, the interviewer said something to him about being a role model and the example he was setting. He said he was a drug addict and that being a role model was parents job not his. I agree with him.

I had some videos of Pele as a kid, and I was lucky enough to see Maradona on TV quite a few time. I prefer Maradona's style. Cheeky wee magician.

Hmmm thats a tough one.....i think they were equally skilled. But personality wise Pelé beats Maradona by far, Maradona is too full og himself

I dont care, they are both good. It wont differ much. It's a waste of time to try to differentiate between them.

I think Maradona is a better overall footballer than Pele. Maybe I am wrong, but it is my opinion. Of course I am not a football expert.
