THE MYTH BUSTER
INTRODUCTION:
Many so called Christians say Jesus (Yeshua) is God (YHWH), and claim that God (YHWH) is a trinity. According to this myth perpetrated by the Nicene and Athanasian Creeds, the Father is God (YHWH), the Son is God (YHWH), and the Holy Spirit is God (YHWH). These two creeds, actually myths, hold that the three are co-equal and co-eternal, but are such mythical views correct?
THE FACTS:
Lets look at the facts.
God (YHWH) is the Creator per Revelation 4:11, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (Authorized King James Bible; AV), and per Psalms 90:2, Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. (AV). Whereas Jesus had a beginning per Colossians 1:15-16, Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: (AV). Referring to God (YHWH) as his Father, Jesus (Yeshua) himself said per John 14:28, Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. (AV). Also, there were things neither Jesus (Yeshua) or the angels knew per Mark 13:32, But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. (AV).
At Luke 22:42, Jesus (Yeshua) prayed to his Father, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done (AV). Clearly showing that his Father (YHWH) was NOT he himself, but the supreme personage. Furthermore, it was God (YHWH) who resurrected Jesus from the dead, not Jesus (Yeshua) himself as shown by Acts 2:32, This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. (AV). Thus, obviously the Father (YHWH) and the Son Jesus (Yeshua) were not equal at any time.
Some may say, what about after Jesus (Yeshuas) resurrection to heaven? Well 1 Corinthians 11:3 states, For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. (AV); therefore, the scripture clearly show Jesus (Yeshua) is NOT co-equal to God (YHWH). Instead they show he is Gods (YHWHs) Son, see John 17:1-3, These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. (AV); and Mark 1:1, The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; (AV).
The so called third person of the Trinity, the Holy Ghost or Spirit, is not a person at all, but Gods (YHWHs) active force or power. This was clearly shown by the Psalmist at Psalm 104:30, Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth (AV). This spirit is not God (YHWH) himself; but his force. In fact, the Hebrew word here rendered Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit, or Spirit which is translated from 'ru'ach' meaning "breath; wind; spirit." Thus the idea that the holy spirit is the third person of a Trinity, when in fact the Bible does not support the Holy Ghost or Spirit as being a being at all, is absurd. For example, "The Catholic Encyclopedia:" states, "Nowhere in the Old Testament do we find any clear indication of a Third Person." And Catholic theologian Fortman states, "The Jews never regarded the spirit as a person; nor is there any solid evidence that any Old Testament writer held this view. . . . The Holy Spirit is usually presented in the Synoptics [Gospels] and in Acts as a divine force or power." Whereas, "The New Catholic Encyclopedia" states, "The O[ld] T[estament] clearly does not envisage God's spirit as a person . . . God's spirit is simply God's power. If it is sometimes represented as being distinct from God, it is because the breath of Yahweh acts exteriorly." It also states, "The majority of N[ew] T[estament] texts reveal God's spirit as something, not someone; this is especially seen in the parallelism between the spirit and the power of God." And "A Catholic Dictionary," states, "On the whole, the New Testament, like the Old, speaks of the spirit as a divine energy or power."
This force or power of God (YHWH) which he uses to accomplish his purpose. By means of it, God (YHWH) created all that there is as shown by Genesis 1:2, And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (AV); and Psalm 33:6, By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. (AV).
God used his Holy Spirit to inspire men who wrote the Bible per 2 Peter 1:19-21, We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (AV). Therefore, as all with an open mind can see the Trinity and its various creeds are but myths and God (YHWH) is shown to be a singular person at Deuteronomy 6:4, Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: (AV).
