Errors in Bible translations...

I am not disagreeing with you with respect the Red Sea being the most logical place of crossing from information given in the Bible, but simply pointing out that there is some disagreement on this point.

The red sea is not a "sea of reeds." The reed sea (Yam Suph) is the papyrus wetland at the mouth of the Nile -- the only route out of Egypt for anyone with any knowledge of geography. Crossing the red sea would land you in the Arabian desert.

You'd think a book of such import would correct well-known translation errors.

It is simply nonsense (or delusion) to claim such certainty. See, for example, Bratcher.

Explain the book of Kings confirmation of it then. I doubt Solomon would have his ships in a shallow wetland.

OK Deut. here one for you. Let's turn this around. Errors in science. Let's look at some of the mis-information that is found in school textbooks.


Researchers say textbooks need immediate attention because even the best teachers rely on them more than they think. Shadow studies that track teachers' activities have shown that between 80 and 90 percent of classroom and homework assignments are textbook-driven. Which suggests that the Big Four textbook publishers -- McGraw-Hill, Harcourt, Houghton Mifflin, and Pearson have swallowed other publishing companies and made them imprints -- have established a de facto national curriculum. A forthcoming book based on research from the Third International Math and Science Study (TIMSS) blames U.S. textbooks for the relatively poor showing of U.S. students on international tests. According to Why Schools Matter (scheduled for publication by Jossey-Bass next year), the content of textbooks in different countries correlates very closely to what children learn in those countries, as reflected in their test scores.

What are you babbling about. The man is talking about, not errors in science, but errors in 'scientific textbooks'. Let me proudly go on record as stating that I am for correcting all scientific errors in scientific texts. Unfortunately, we are still left with a fictional Exodus. Pay better attention next time.

Errors in scientific textbooks, errors in the bible. They are both books, right? I have seen scientific explanations for all the events surrounding the Exodus. I for one am all for correcting the errors in religion. babble babble babble

You have a very sarcastic nature, don't you? You say we have a mythical Exodus. And when I offer you evidence otherwise, you throw that science out as 'drivel'. I have read it. If science is definitive, why do you refuse the idea that science could in fact prove things in the bible to be true? And well, I love a debate! But I think since you will not even accept science as a valid arguement, it would just turn into a bunch of "he said, she said, bull****".:D

You know it didn't work out too well for that guy... he had to fight the ROUS's, dive into quicksand, was captured, and killed by his enemy after being tortured. I suspect with Deut you will suffer a similar fate, but do you have friends to bribe a wizard to bring you back to life?

Revelation 12:17; 12:3, 7, 9; 13:2; 16:12; 20:2

The references to a mystical/mythical "dragon" in the verses listed above is incorrect in so many bibles including the kjv, nwt, and so on, that I didn't list them all here.

In the book of Genesis 3:4, the true term or word "serpent" and "snake" of many correct translations is what is supposed to be in the book of Revelation in all those spots.

So this mistake is like the "unicorn" thing in all those other verses of the king james bible. Some bad translation of the past is still influencing the many translations of today due to tradition of men.

Perhaps the reader is incorrect andwould like to state what they believe the right word
should be, providing evidence of course :)
