Phase-shifted pink unicorns (becuase let's face it, "invisble pink unicorns" are just silly) run the universe.

I find your ideas amusing and bit frightening.

Perhaps you'd like to consult with a climatologist or geologist before advocating idea of the entire earth being unchanging tropical paradise (or a global flood).

A race of Giants (Nephilim) cannot be dismissed out of hand. Do you have access to any anthropological data (skeletons) that indicate such a group existed? You forgot to mention that the Nephilim were "the heros of old, men of renown" hardy rapists and molesters.

Dinosaurs and people never co-existed, please supply evidence to the contrary.

Why not comment about the hurricane since you seem pretty unembarrassed to discuss Flood mythology. If the people of New Orleans are feeling the loving hand of a merciful god then let's hear about it.

My take on it is: a large city in a hurricane zone took a an indirect hit. The resulting chaos and confusion and death has more to do with inadequate preparation than a diety.

The Unicorn (or Rhinoceros) was known for its brute strength, coupled with its stubbornness and unwillingness to be tamed. Anyone who had one, and could harness it, had one heck of a "workhorse" in his time.

The idea today of a Unicorn being a horse is, of course, fairy tale material that's gone the way of the Cherubim.

Like I said before, the Cherubim are very powerful angels in Scripture, but today are cute little babies that pose for Hallmark cards.

Ya, your little laughing icon said it all.

I did check with the Chief Climatologist --- He put it in writing.

Better than that, I've got an eyewitness account from Someone Who was there -- in writing!

My wife and I were in Supertyphoon Pamela that hit Agana, Guam on May 28th, 1976. I'll never, never forget it. The eye of that super-storm went right over the island, and the Navy was just able to get their ships out of Apra Harbor before it struck.

Governor Bordallo declared Martial Law after that, but revoked it when he realized the Navy would take over control of the island.

Same. Prove your source.

The Book of Job.
He asked for evidence, you responded with hear-say.

That's nice. What does that have to do with Katrina?

I hear say it's pretty accurate, though.

I'll thank you to leave my niece out of this.

Well AV,
Athough Ohio and Michigan are close together on the map, I can see we live in totally different worlds. I ask for is tangible evidence of your claims and all you offer are bits o' wisdom from bronze age goatherders.

I'll tell you something, religion was off my radar in my 20s (weak agnostic). I married a roman catholic who "converted" to protestant fundamentalism which exposed me to the whole world of YEC and strict interpretation of scripture. Twenty years of wasted Sundays and all I have to show for it is that I became an atheist. When I read comments like yours it strengthens my conviction that religion is a waste of neurons.

Come to think of it, it is worth it. Knockout

So you've asked someone else to prove your source for you. Thusfar he's not showed, so "it's not going all that well". Until someone proves your source, you are stuck with merely a claim.

He said He's been knocking at your door for sometime now.
I'm at work, though my GF has made no metion of someone at the door. Perhaps you are just spouting useless and false rhetoric?

I hear say it's pretty accurate, though.
I hear the same about anal probes.. and at least those witnesses are actually available.

I'll thank you to leave my niece out of this.
What does your assertion to have been through Pamela have to do with Katrina? Why did you even say it? When do you think you'll come down from the hallucinignic drugs you are on?

I'm sorry to hear that, Cmot. Believe me, religion too was off my radar in my early '20s. If you would have lived in the house I did with a father that abused me and my sister, then took me to Church every Sunday and watched him smile and shake peoples' hands.

They held him in high esteem, and even spoke down on my mom because, for some reason, she wouldn't come to church (I wonder why?). But dad eventually did get saved, and so did I.

I realize now, that had I died without Christ, the plans I had for explaining why I turned by back on God would not have been acceptable. In other words, I couldn't blame God for what my dad did or didn't do.

I hope and pray you see the Light too, before too long, and stop looking for "evidence" of His non-existence.

I've been sacrificing MnMs to the pahse-shiften unicorns, because I know from their great books that dying believing in a false God will destroy your soul. I can only hope that you stop looking for this evidence of their non-existance and accpet their pink-goodness, because no "the Bible told me" will save you when you die.

Oh I think He'll do a thorough enough job when the time comes. Someone once asked me why He hasn't shown up yet, and I replied that He always waits until the punishment fits the crime. IMHO, we're all about to be subpoenaed.

I'm at work, though my GF has made no mention of someone at the door. Perhaps you are just spouting useless and false rhetoric?
Could be, but I doubt it. One of the strongest evidences that I know of is the fact that He is berated, insulted, falsely accused, loved, admired, and respected much more than any "religious figure" in history.

As Paul put it in Philippians 1:18

...WHETHER IN PRETENSE, OR IN TRUTH, CHRIST IS PREACHED; AND I THEREIN DO REJOICE...

I hear the same about anal probes.. and at least those witnesses are actually available.
The difference is, though: they walked away from a physician with a bill to pay. If anyone walks away from the Great Physician with a bill to pay, well ... no comment.

Well, I think maybe you'll eventually get the points I made in Posts 18 and 20, and give me the same respect that others did. If not, I'm just as good at sarcasm as the next guy.

But when those M&M's do melt in your hand, and not in your mouth, you'll see you've been sacrificing to the wrong phase-shifter.

So your prayer has been ignored (or answered "no") and you are stuck with the "I have no support for my claim" bag. Poor AV.

You really gotta cut back on the LSD.

I know all the words in "AV made points" but in my experience, that sentace doesn't make any sense.

You igore entierly points and questions with rhetoric, hyperbole, and what seem to be innane ramblings on the order of "ITS RAINING ON THE FURNITURE!!!" (now I expect you to make some absurd free-form god-rhetoric over that comment to).

Back to the point, you've no historical or archelogical evidence which supports the premise required to even begin to support your claim regarding "God did it".

Even if we move past that (IOW, if we accept the Bible), you've offered no Biblical support for your position at all. In short: you're full of crap. I can only assume by the fact that you don't even pretend to account for your position, that you are well aware you are full of crap (or dissassociative-delusional). I doubt seriously that there are any here who think otherwise.

Most dinosaurs are not reptiles (excpetions include mostly flying reptiles (like pteridons) and aquatic reptiles (like icktheosaurus)).
Of course evidence for this includes the bone structure of dinosaurs, which tend to resemble that of birds, rather than reptiles or mammals.

Actually JerryL ... No dinosaur was a 'reptile' in the strict sence. Pterosaurs were not dinosaurs and were warm blooded furry things decidedly un reptilian... Icthyosuars were reptiles and thier metabolism is as yet still debated.

There is also the evidence that most dinosaurs grew terrifically fast... from one pound hatchlings to three ton adults in five years in the case of most Hadrosaurs(duck-bills). Basket ball sized hatchlings to thirty ton ninty foot long adults in twenty years or so for Sauropods like Apatasaurus.

How do you keep something like that on a little boat for a year or more?

wa:do
The rate of growth can be measured by analyzing the bones of dinosaurs. There are rings in bones, indicating growth spurts, similar to the rings found in a tree.
The rate at which the T Rex grew into a full adult was about the same as a human (from what I remember, but I am not sure).

And he cops so much crap because the people who follow him hold him up as a great and good entity, who unleashes natural disasters as a form of judgement. If I were a Christian living in New Orleans and just had most of my house blow away and the rest buried in a stew of petrochemical waste and sewage, and lost everything I and my family for several generations had owned, had the remains of my business looted by angst filled people with guns and was sitting there with nothing but a wet arse - while I would be thankful for my life, I would also be asking '*** did I ever do to be judged like this?!I'm a good person, go and get bent you sadistic *******.' And you can cite Job and say, 'blahdeblah, faith being tested, yadahyadah,' but if you think the idea that people have lost everything as part of the process for a divine bet is going to bring many of them comfort, I'm betting you're wrong.
I doubt you'll see the Gulf Coast heathens shaking their fists at the sky exclaiming;'Thor, you hammer weilding, tanty chucking prick!' The rest of us don't vilify our dieties - however much we may love and respect them - when something goes awry, because we don't give them absolute responsibility. Seems to me your bloke is a convenient figurehead to put in charge of everything and then yell at when it all turns to crap.

Giants IN the earth? Doesn't sound funny to me...sounds an awful lot like the fossil record. I can imagine someone unearthing a bone the size of a T-Rex femur would cause quite a stir.

Poor Michel noticed this before I did... I really need to get that article going about why we need to be focusing on other mythological creatures...

The unicorn is not a rhinoceros. The unicorn is a ky'linn, a kirin, and several other things, not the least of which is being a unicorn, but it is not a rhinoceros, not any more than it is a horse.

I realize that this is not the purpose of this thread, so I would be very happy to debate this elsewhere, should anyone feel the need.
