I believe asking that question without distinguishing between the Tanach and the New Testament is near meaningless.

A fool
I believe that the Bible is a collection of different types of writing media written by many different authors that were chosen by a group of Christians to go in one large book. None of these author's were God.

Do even believe in either one, Deut?
If not, then why make the distinction?
I love the Tanach. If I thought there was any chance at all that yours was an honest question, I'd answer it.

I didn't ask if you loved it. Do you believe it came from God? If so, how do you rectify your belief in Atheism?

Your dislike of me and what I believe in has little to do with the answer and it appears that you are using this to evade the question. Not that this is new, but I thought I should point it out.

I would tend to go along with that.:)

Following Christ
I can't vote in the poll because my belief is that the Bible was written by men who were inspired by God. IMHO, the choices offered don't reflect this possibility.:)

I agree.

Not your average Mormon
I voted "from God but lost in translation." I don't know how accurately this choice expresses my personal belief, but it came closer than any of the others. I believe the Bible to be the word of God. I just don't believe it to be inerrent or complete.

I voted for others since I think the many books of the Bible was written by many people who *thought* they were inspired by god. Certain books were selected (or excluded) to be part of the canon by other folks who *thought* they were inspired by god.

Even though your 'lost in translation' reminded me of the lovely film by that name, I reckon that is a good decription.:)

I also love the Tanack. I also love the refurbished New Testament(removing of Greekmindset, returning to Hebrew foundation)still with much lost never to be recovered in this lifetime. There is enough truth in it that man may be saved and some chosen.
When the NT is overlaid the Tanack and;Isa 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little." restoring it to its Hebrew prespective, wherein it is written;Ro 3:2 Much in every way! Chiefly because to them were committed the oracles of God.
1Pe 4:11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Yeshua ha Mashiach, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

The Hebrews were entrusted with the oracles of God, the Tanack is almost perfect, as much as is humanly possible. IMHO.

Malus 12:9

Temporarily Deactive.
I assume you are meaning the plain old Christian Bible?

I voted "others", because while I believe the Tanach was written by many,(mostly Moses),
I believe the Christian Bible was just a bunch of plagurising dudes that tampered with the Tanach.

Well, it's my opinion, lol. Disagree all you like.

i agree with fluffy.

however, just because something was written by people, doesn't mean there aren't alot of really good messages and guidelines.
