A great many people thought it would be at the year 2000 as well, and lost faith when it did not happen, that is the problem with "setting dates". The Bible says if someone tells you "He is in the desert" don't give it your attention, because when He comes it will be seen from East to West across the skies like the brilliance of lightning!Luke Wolf said:Shortly after the 9/11 attacks, when I was still Christian, I had a strong beliefe that Christ wouldn't return any time shortly. Everyone suddenly expected it, and the Bible does say the day shall come like a thief in the night. Can't be unepected if everyone expects it. No one seemed to believe me.
I'd never thought about that 'danger' of setting dates; now you mention it, of course it makes sense...Sabio said:A great many people thought it would be at the year 2000 as well, and lost faith when it did not happen, that is the problem with "setting dates". He already came "like one of us" and was rejected by men and crucified. Next time He will come in power and glory!EnhancedSpirit said:If God had a name, what would it be
And would you call it to his face
If you were faced with him in all his glory
What would you ask if you had just one question

Many people believe that this was achieved in the mid 1800s when missionaries went into the remote jungles of Africa and also into Aboriginal territory in Australia. Do you disagree? If so, what is left to be done to achieve this? --Bear in mind, the Bible does say "preached" rather than "accepted"; or do you believe that acceptance is inferred?Prophet Rashad said:Christ will return nobody knows when it will happen but God I hope soon. But he will not return till the Gospel is preached to the WHOLE world
I am on lack of time. Your many questions on the return of Christ will get many various views depending on which religion one is, and will then become a debate of those positions, so you may not learn much. I would research what all the religions believe on that and come to your own conclusions.barnardpi said:What is your belief concerning the return of Christ? Has it happened? Will it happen? When? How will it happen? How will you know? Are there conditions which must be met before it happens? What are they? Have any of them been fulfilled?
I came across a book (promoting atheism) which said the Gospel had been preached to all the world by the 1840s. Frustratingly, no source of authoritative information was given in support of that statement.barnardpi said:Many people believe that this was achieved in the mid 1800s when missionaries went into the remote jungles of Africa and also into Aboriginal territory in Australia.
