As you can see, in Job, not only does the Bible refer to an expanse, but it actually refers to it by given name (Shamayim), which was given to the expanse which seperates the waters above from the waters below.
Jerry, I know what the Bible says. Do you? I don't need a lesson in foreign language to read what is written in my native language. The Bible "refers" to the HEAVENS being stretched.

Even English translations of the Bible are wrong.

Example: It doesn't say MIXED MULTITUDE in Numbers 11:4 --- it says MIXT MULTITUDE

Example: It doesn't say AND LO, I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS in Matthew 28:20 --- it says AND LO, I AM WITH YOU ALWAY

Example: It doesn't say THOROUGHLY FURNISHED in 2 Timothy 2:15 --- it says THROUGHLY furnished

So if these "altenate translations" corrupt even the English, it must be because their foreign source is corrupt?

AV1611,

You've said this sort of thing to many people so far. Have you ever thought that problem is not with Ryan "not accepting" what you say, but that what you say is simply unacceptable?
Um, no. Please audit EVERY ONE of my post and check their responses. The Law of Probability, I would say, is in my favor. Wouldn't you?

Ceridwen, please read Post 179, that's exactly my point. I'm just saving having to type some lenghty remark, only to have it dismissed on some technicality.

Firstly, you've ignored my statement that the word used is the proper name for the sky, which is a firmament (hammered expanse) which seperates the waters above from the waters below.

Secondly, I welcome you posting up the Hebrew in question and explaining how we know it means "currently increasing in size" and in what the translations are wrong. Right now I've got your claim which is inconsistant with what "sky" is per Genesis and is also inconsistant with hundreds of years of Biblical scholarship; you will need to actually prove your case rather than simple spout rhetoric.

Yeah, I know, Jerry. Believe me, I believe you when you say I can't. (Even though I have a King James Bible right here in front of me.)

The reason I dismissed the information in post 179 is because it did not meet the origional requirements that I gave for the "proof"

Any event that you give should be believed to have happened by someone who has nothing to lose by it being wrong.
The event that i dismissed was only reported happening by christian sources, and they had it on video. Since it was a "miracle" that was caught on tape it would be huge and reported in some other source rather than a christian newspaper.

Speaking of which, what is your interpretation of Psalm 12:6-7?
That the Word of God is as pure as Silver that has gone through a 7-step purification process by which the silver is repeatedly melted down, the slag removed off the top, and recooled. I think the term today would be fine silver, which is .999 silver, with sterling silver at .925.

Then, after purification, they are divinely "kept" by God. A type of verbal reverse-entropy, to coin a phrase, and transmitted to all generations for divine translation (and transliteration) in their respective languages.

Again, Ryan, if my memory serves me correctly, I think you asked for an example of some supernatural occurrence documented in the Bible, and I said JESUS WALKING ON THE WATER. Now, if I interpret you correctly, you want some external non-biased, neutral proof of same. And I'm sure there's a website somewhere thay may have it. I don't know of one off the top of my head, but I'm sure PAH or someone can find one.

Why trust your memory? here is the origional question!

I still don't think there is anything spiritual in this world, and would like someone to point out some "spiritual" things that can not be explained by science.
Actually I never ever wanted anything that was in the bible for the simple fact that you cannot prove what happened in the bible really happened. All you need is ONE event that happened that is supernatural

Well, how about the Anthropic Principle then, or the Fibonacci Series in nature? Will those help, or do you need Jesus Himself to come all the way back here and tell you? (Because, believe me, if He has to come back here, He's gonna be mad! Read the book of Revelation.)

I am a math major, I know all about the Fibonacci Series. So are you saying that because some things in nature are arranged in a certain order that they are spiritual? Or one could say that the fibonacci series occurs in nature because everything comes from the same orgin and it is something that has been proven to work? =)

Again, something that is spiritual that many sources agree that it is spiritual. Like someone walking on water, ghosts verified somewhere, something of that sort.

Sorry, Ryan, again I use only one source to back my claims up; and you need to respect that. If YOU need more than one source, I need to respect THAT as well.
