Atheism: The Great Nothing!

Come on now, you know I aways tip my hat
to sharp challenges of arguments falling flat,
But do we have to gang up on Mickiel,
chasing him like Melville's suffering whale,
and, uhhhh, I want to go into that.

Booooo! You can't take the limerick crown from Revoltingest.

I'll dodge your scorn as well as your fruit,
and to Revoltingest's verse, I'll always salute,
giving praise where deserved,
but I'm never unnerved,
by scorn and booing both cute and moot.

You talk like we needed support for being Atheists. Not so, pal.

\
Well this I certainly disagree with, Atheism needs support because its strings attached to it. A lie always needs support, no doubt about that.

The thought of there being no creator, demands support, does it not?

Peace.

 No, the person who makes the claim that something exists has the burden of proof, not the skeptic...

What a strange thing to say.

Atheism has strings attached to it? What strings?

Atheism is a lie? Atheism is nothing more than a lack of belief in deities. That's exactly what it is. No lies there.

A dog shows reasoning, tipping over it's food bowl and then moving the bowl to get to some bits that it couldn't get to before. It has memory, for it does the same thing the next day.
A dogs sense of smell is superior to ours and this gives it a part of its brain that is superior to humanities - that being the smell processing center.
A dog learns that certain sounds we make mean it should do a certain action.
A dog communicates via it's body language and by its vocalisations, from a whine for fear, to a growl for stay away, to a bark for a variety of reasons depending on the bark.

Make no mistake humans are animals, we are very smart, and unique animals with a significant difference in abilities, however this doesn't remove us from being animals.

A bird is in construction.. nest building.
A Dog is in mining.. burying bones.
A rat is an explorer.. finding its way out of mazes.
An elephant is a memory specialist... recalling dozens of water holes.
and so on.

We might debate this point, but, since your have raised the point, the thought that there is a creator most certainly demands support, don't you agree? You certainly have the thought. Do you have any support for it?

Well yes I do. I do not believe that superior things can be birthed from inferior things, such as evolution is suggesting. Its like believing that a bird can evolve from a rock. Or that a planet can evolve from nothing. No, Superior existence demand Superior reasons why it exist , I believe God to be that Superior.

Such as " Human Consciousness", its a miracle, and I do not accept that it just developed from absolute zero somewhere during this reality we know as " Time." Intelligence must breed intelligence, it cannot be born from things far lesser than itself.

I think that to be perfect flawless reasoning and support for there being a God.

Peace.

a 50 metre high tree grows from one seed.
The superior from the inferior.

Many things start out simple and become more complex over time - a persons finances, a novel begins simply as an idea in the authors mind and progresses to Harry Potter, A child begins unable to fend for itself or speak language and becomes an adult, a nation begins as a document and a group of people and progresses to the good ol' US of A.
and so on.

But superior and inferior could well be subjective terms. Is a seed superior to a tree? Is an adult superior to a child? These need not necessarily be answered YES, and an objective mind could easily find and define something inferior about tree or an adult relative to a seed or a child, respectively.

For example a child has a superior learning rate to an adult.

All humans start out as sperm. And before that, they are nothing.

So you're wrong. Intelligence can come from things "lesser" than itself. In fact, intelligence can and does come from nothing.

I think that to be perfect flawless reasoning and support for there being a God.
Except for the fact it's complete nonsense.

Whaaaaaaaaaa......??:areyoucra

Plenty of superior things evolve or come from inferior things. We see it everyday, and the few posts up prove it.

Athiesm is not about making your god a zero, it's about maikng sense of your god. Your religion is full of holes and contridictions that we know. Athiesm is not an organization designed to belittle and tear down other beliefs. It is simply the ability to question what we perceive as obvious B.S.,....

I would prefer to use terms like "complex" and "simple" rather than the more emotionally loaded words "superior" and "inferior", but I understand what you are trying to say. It is ridiculous to think that a given thing can evolve literally from anything at all, for example a bird from a rock. However, it is not at all ridiculous to believe that multi-celled organisms can evolve from single-celled organisms or that humans and other African apes can have evolved from a common ancestor. It becomes harder to reject evolution out of hand when you start to consider more reasonable forms of evolution, especially forms that are strongly backed up from our examination of natural reality.

Such as " Human Consciousness", its a miracle, and I do not accept that it just developed from absolute zero somewhere during this reality we know as " Time." Intelligence must breed intelligence, it cannot be born from things far lesser than itself.
Human consciousness is associated with a very complex brain. We observe other animals with less complex brains, and we can associate the less complex brains with diminished cognitive capacities. Hence, it is very easy to see why consciousness might evolve. Life forms that move around (i.e. have bodies) are more likely to survive if they have increased awareness of potential threats, sources of food, potential mates, etc. Consciousness is a trait that one would expect to evolve in creatures that move around and therefore need very complex guidance systems to ensure their survival in a very changeable environment. That's why plants don't have brains or consciousness. They do not move around.

I think that to be perfect flawless reasoning and support for there being a God.
Of course, you do. From my perspective, your reasoning seems extremely flawed and no support at all for there being a God.

All humans obviously didnot start out as sperm, spomodazoa didnot create itself first. If such was the case, explain to me how a single sperm cell, the first one, could then have a child? What was the womb? Where did the womb come from, or are you suggesting that this first sperm cell cultivated itself, created a womb that was not human, then placed itself into this manufactored womb and out popped the first human. Thats complette nonsense in my view.

Birth is an intelligent reality, and could only have originated from a far more intelligent source. Reproduction didnot start itself, it had to have a reasonable beginning which can be explained without theory.

The belief that intelligence came from nothing is nonsense in my view. That would make " Nothing" the greatest thing in existence.

Which is absurd!

You know I had ended this post and stated that I will not comment on Atheism, but that was not enough, others desire to continue this. There are people who actually believe that all this; came from nothing. Incredible and unbelivable to me; simply dumbfounding thought processes. I do not believe I came from nothing; no way possible in my mind.

We are too complex and well ordered to have come from disorder.

And I stand on that reasoning.

Peace.

The actual cause is far beyond you.

Pretending god came from nothing so that you did not have to come from 'nothing' then subjects you accurately to your own judgement. (Although to be more correct I would say willfully ignorant)
