The New Black Panthers are nothing new.

Kathryn

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
The Department of Justice is refusing to follow up on this disturbing incident of voter intimidation:

YouTube - "Security" patrols stationed at polling places in Philly

YouTube - EJ Exclusive - Police Respond to Intimidation

The guy with the billy club is a New Black Panther leader named King Samir Shabazz. He states in this video:

"You want freedom? You gonna have to kill some crackers. You gonna have to kill some white babies! I hate white people! I hate every iota of a cracker!" And more racist diatribe - watch it for yourself.

YouTube - Black Panthers Say That Blacks Have To "Kill Some Crackers And Their Babies!"

People - if some white Tea Party members did this crap, can you imagine the outrage in the media? Can you imagine what the media and the Department of Justice would do if a member of the KKK stood outside a voting place with a billy club?

And we have American men and women in Iraq in part to enforce the freedom to vote without intimidation?

Something is really wrong with this picture.

How common is this? This really looks like an extremist being given more publicity than may be safe.

Sorta like how the media treat tea partiers, eh?
I don't judge the Panthers by these few guys either.
But the authorities certainly oughta scrutinize this act.

It would be a mistake to conflate the New Black Panthers with the original Black Panther Party in your mind though. Very different organizations, these guys essentially being a knock-off trying to use the Black Panther Party's image to gain some cred. They are in no way affiliated with the original party, and are just a thuggish hate group founded in 1989. So yeah, they're nothing new, they've been around for 21 years.

Well, I think it's important to update citizens on what's going on, but sometimes giving people like this publicity only gives them more power and arises interest in what this person is doing.

Education and knowledge is always important, but media attention can be a dangerous thing sometimes.

They are no better than the KKK. They are just a bunch of nonsense hypocrites who use intimidation and violence to get their way. I do not understand why the Justice Department won't follow up with these fools.

Done here.
Every time I think it's impossible to more disgusted with Obama's Justice Department than I already am, the DOJ proves me wrong.

Eric Holder is yet another thing wrong with the DOJ.

The ADL could be just a tad prejudiced on this issue, so I'll keep looking around.

Huh, ok. I just linked the ADL because finding hate groups is kind of what they do. I could have linked the SPLC, but they don't have a lot of information on the group and just seem to file under "Black Separatist Hate Groups".

Not every organization sees the same kind of hate, since each has its own biases/prejudices. I was surprised to find out
that People For The American Way lists 2 libertarian organizations I belong to in their Right Wing Organization Profiles.
- The Institute For Justice
- The Cato Institute
They say, "Right-wing groups are.....promoting regressive policies that seek to drive wedges between and among Americans."
This strikes me as sanitized code language for "bigoted hate group". Obviously, I disagree with their rather histrionic claims
about us. Their "American Way" must be quite different from mine.

Ok yeah fair enough.

But yeah main point being the New Black Panthers are a hate group. Not much more to say. They're no better than the KKK or the squillions of neo-nazi groups out there.

Well, they have some reason to hate. I'll watch how they act, since it's the violent ones doing the most damage.
