Why don't the Jews accept Jesus as their Messiah?

Rome wouldn't have executed Jesus without a lot of pressure from the Jewish religious heirarchy
Rome had a very good reason to execute Jesus. When Jesus entered into the Temple, and caused the disturbance there, that was all the reason Rome needed. The reason for this is partly due to the time of the occurrence, as well as the message Jesus was spreading.

The time being Passover. It was a time that tensions were already high. The Jewish people were celebrating their freedom from the Egyptians. This would have caused quite a bit of tension with the Roman authority, as celebrating the overthrow of former oppressors had the possibility of making some a little more courageous. So we had a tinderbox situation there. Jesus entering into the temple and disrupting functions/services that were needed in the Temple could have been a spark that would set the whole thing into a riot. Rome was aware of this.

More so, Jesus was talking about a Kingdom of God that would replace the Kingdom of Rome. Add that to the idea that others, if not Jesus himself, was calling him the King of the Jews, and the Son of God (actually a title the emperor Augustus had), it labeled him as a insurrectionist. It was all the reason that Rome needed to execute Jesus. And Pilate was quite good at issuing orders such as that, as well was Rome in general.

The Jews are supposedly God's chosen people (very wrong to have favourites of course ) so if this is the case why didn't they recognise Jesus as their Messiah instead of having him executed? Or maybe they saw what Christians failed to grasp, he was just as human as everyone else with faults and failings. He didn't seem to go down too well in his own neighbourhood if the Bible is correct.

People, in general, are stupid. So Jesus died and a theif was saved in His place. But apparently Jesus' death was a good thing, so who really cares? :p

Also, I don't know if this has already been pointed out... But some Jews do believe that Jesus was the messiah. I think they're nicknamed Jews of Jesus. They merely disbelieve in His divinity, which is why they aren't Christians. However, I don't see why semantical things like this should matter.

We reject Baha'ullah because we already consider Jesus as the Messiah so any other people claiming to be the Messiah would have to be a false prophet.

Save that the individual so claiming can be the Return of the Christ Spirit, which is what we believe to be the case!

So can agnosticism not survive without re-writing of history? :)
If you treat scriptures as an accurate description of history, water to wine, back from the dead- included, there is not much I can do for you history-education wise.

So people like Newton, Pascal, Darwin, Faraday and many of their friends died without your assistance.
