Confused.....

Okay, Im confused. I live in a house that isnt exactly "religious" we don't pray together, we don't go to church, and we don't really talk about the topic of religion. I, however, am interested in figuring out my religion. I believe in God, I pray and all that. I don't know what religion I am. It feels kind of pointless to pray if you dont understand who you are praying to....so im looking for advice. I was brought up as christian, but no specific kind of christian. Can anyone help me? I'd really appreciate it!:help:

I am sorry this was not replied to earlier. There is no way ANY of us on this forum can determine just what you believe in: you must figure that out for yourself! However, feel free to ask any number of questions or to express your ideas and any number of us should chime in with what we believe!

Oh My, but you are back in good form!

First of all stop searching for religion and get some relationship with God because when you have relationship you will get much further then religion. Seek God in your prayer life and talk to him ask him to give you better understanding. Also ask him to lead you to a church home because you are gonna need the fellowship with the other saints of God.

We can't make that desscion for you, pray and seek your soul about it. If you was brought up as a Christian, try finding a church in your area, seek God for the wisdom to lead you to the right one, ask a friend,

Although there are many types of denominations for Christianity out their, they all have the belief that Jesus Christ, is the son of God, and He died on the cross for our sins. The first step in becoming a Christian is accepting Jesus Christ as your savior, admitting that we are all sinners, and we need Him in our life,

No one on this earth is sinless, even Christians, we all have sinned and fell short of the Glory of God.

I can't tell you what religion to goto, or what denmonination to join up, just check to see wat each demoniation is about, and you make that choice

I myself, would love to see you stay and choose Christanity, but that is your choice. Seek God and read the Word. He will answer you! May be in a dream, thru a family/friend, or thru a still silent whiseper.

Let your religion be happiness in the fact you have found God, congratulations.

God is Love - try to relax, let your mind settle down to being as much at rest as you can, and just listen.......... listen to what your heart tells you; and hang on to those lovelly thoughts that come to you, because those will be from God.

Although that is true you also have to realize that God is Vengeful and just as much love he may have for you he can have that much wrath

You know, I took this test a few months or so before I joined this forum, and then when I joined I though, "I should post that link" but then I decided that probably somone else had posted it, or that nobody would even care, or all that other incertainty I always feel when I'm new. we all know that we have to pray to God to find the truth but why don't we seek the truth through what we believe in " not blindly ". then, if we didn't feel it's the truth so we can find another religion.

We always welcome "The Truth"!

Sometimes, you don't need a new religion, but simply need to more fully understand what you believe in. Then again, sometimes the time comes to dump one paradigm for another. It's not a decision to be taken lightly, nor is it easy to fully explore all of your options.

i think it depends on weather we are seeking to do the will of God ,or weather we are seeking to do our own will , there is a big difference between selfish reasoning ,and what the true God requires ,so the question is .....what does God require of us?

why don't you start with reading his word, the Bible. It will show you God's poing of view on things and thus guide you in how to live. It is His approval you seek, after all. Right?

You have taken the most important step already and `automatically your jouney has started to wards the goal.
Remeber Religion came much later than man himself and organised religion mcuh later.
If you understand basic science that is enough but not necessary.
If you understand that man has eveolved from a single cell then do revert. We can proceed from there.
Please do not worry, ask and it is deliverd that is the law of nature.
More as we go along.
