African American, where African Americans represent 58% of the county population.

Drugs as well as prostitution are a big cause.

No, the Great Depression was the direct cause of GREED, LYING, CHEETING, STEALING, COVETING, REBELLION, ETC... The symptoms were a major shift moral behavior very quickly.

what was the Dust Bowl caused by? other than bad farming habits? god hates people who live in creaky sod roofed shacks?

Perhaps, or perhaps this is a test to see if the rest of the Christian world will reach out as taught in the Bible, the secular world is helping.

As to the Voodoo, the Bible is complete, they need not add to it or take away.

Voodoo is like Halloween, some of the fertility (pagan) practices of Easter, and the secular modern Christmas. These are all wrong.

I guess I really should not be surprised that there are those on here who actually think that natural disasters, economic down-turns, and terrorist attacks are the direct result of either Gods wraith, or God withdrawing his protection.
The feeble attempt at causation is ignorance at best, and a deep-down desire for the so called "sinner" to perish by Gods hands at worst.

Except that "defiling the land" does not = "bad land management." But your equation of the two does = "bad scriptural management."

"The land itself must observe a sabbath to the Lord. For six years sow your fields, and for six years prune your vineyards and garner their crops. But in the seventh year the land is to have a sabbath of rest, a sabbath to the Lord.... The land is to have a year of rest." (Leviticus 25:2-5; cf. Exodus 23:10-11)
