“Therefore do not be afraid of them. Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known.” (Matthew 10:26)

READINGS:
1. Jeremiah 20:10-13
2. Romans 5:12-15
3. Matthew 10:26-33

REFLECTION: In the letter to the Romans, Paul reflects on the sin of Adam in the light of the redemptive mystery of Christ. Sin, as used in the singular by Paul, refers to the dreadful power that has gripped humanity and engaged in the exaltation of its own desires and interest.

PRAYER: Lord, may your love make us what you have called us to be and your strength give us courage to do your will. Amen.

FAMILY DISCUSSION/ACTIVITY:

Monday:
Reflect today on your call to discipleship. What is God asking you to do in this regard?

Tuesday:
Christians affected the people with whom they came in contact. What areas in your life are asking for the courage of confrontation?

Wednesday:
Pray the Mysteries of Light for all those struggling to be faithful disciples.

Thursday:
Do some reading today about a modern day disciple. Discover the price that this disciple had to pay in practicing his or her faith.

Friday:
The values of a Christian permeate all areas in our life. Do something for the needy today that will express your Christian values.

Saturday:
Volunteer in some way through your church or community.

PRAYER: Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Amen.
