What WAS he talking about???

John 14:9 Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? 10 Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. 12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. NIV

What do you think Jesus was refering to in the emboldened part? What are the "greater" things that we should be doing?

So this isn't taken as a troll, I do have my own ideas, but I would love to hear what y'all have to say about this.

In this, we follow in the steps of our Master, who was himself the preeminent witness for Jehovah—"the Faithful Witness."—Revelation 1:5; 3:14; John 18:37; 1 Peter 2:21

Today, a united people is witnessing "to the most distant part of the earth." It is the people spoken of by the apostle Peter—the ‘people for God’s name’—that is bearing witness to Jehovah and his Kingdom by Christ Jesus. Concerning this, Jesus himself told his disciples: "He that exercises faith in me, that one also will do the works that I do; and he will do works greater than these, because I am going my way to the Father." (John 14:12) From his Father’s right hand in the heavens, the King Jesus Christ now directs the most extensive witness ever conducted here upon earth. As Jesus prophesied, when "this good news of the kingdom" has been "preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations . . . then the end will come."—Matthew 24:14

If Jesus is in the Father, and the Father in he, would that not make him already at the Father? If Jesus claimed path to the Father, and performed miracles, and we will do the same but greater, then does that mean that we will clame the path to the Father and perform miracle's geater than that of Jesus's?

I believe that what Jesus was emphasizing to Phillip and others is that they would do things greater than He subsequent to His resurrection and the disciples being filled with the Holy Spirit in continuing to fulfill God's will to minister and lead others to salvation. The disciples, through the Holy Spirit subsequently had the power to cast out demons, heal the sick and raise the dead as a result of God's power. In a sense in that statement, Jesus was giving them a preview of what was to come after He left their presence physically and ascended into heaven to be with the Father. :)

we know that Jesus healed in His own name and we must heal in the name of Jesus, not in our own name. We do not have the power to heal, it is the name of Jesus Christ that has the power to heal. After his resurection,by saying this, Jesus has given all Christians the power to use His name.:)
