Sex for fun...

Original Freak

I am the ORIGINAL Freak
That's what I was wondering. Why can't sex be fun...which makes you want it more, which makes the chance of offspring better, which in turn leads to spreading your DNA.

All the NT says about lust is not to have such thoughts. A person can masturbate without having a single lustful thought (in theory). Sin and sex begs a question: are the lustful dreams all people have sinful? If they are provoked by a body that hasnt had its physical needs met, then is a person actually failing to take care of the temple God has given them? (another sin in many religions). If yes, than masturbation (or sex with a spouse as another option) when it doesnt have lustful thoughts associated with it can actually prevent sin and lust. The Bible is silent on this issue other than the principle on lust. This silence is interesting considering it is a common experience for humanity in general.

see i never understood this about certain aspects of christianity in some denominations...how can lust be bad? Lust is something we are given which, when used responsibly, is a great good! W/o lust why would anyone want to have sex? or be attracted to someone else (and the guys know what i'm saying we are very visual creatures) It's only when lust is allowed to run your life is when it becomes and evil that can destroy it. But used responsibly, especially in the context of a marriage, it can be a beautiful thing!

jewscout, not all lust is bad. Within the bounds of marriage it isnt condemned with most denominations. Only outside wedlock, Matthew 5:27-30. Personally, i have a problem with lust because it demeans what makes a person a person: their mind and spirit. It focuses just on the body generally, and such is wrong. Lusting after another's mind (not in a control sense) is a pure form of lust because it drive a person to be selfless. And actually, all christians should lust for God and spiritual knowledge. Those who dont lust for the proper things only setting for blind faith and the traditions of men.
