Star Wars

I have to admit I am kind of taken aback somewhat on the subtle CGI changes and the digital transfers of the DVD but these are the first time I am watching the Star Wars Saga in surround sound. Many people do not realize that when I saw a few of these films that technology was not yet perfected in theaters.

i saw star wars opening day and it was pretty good, but a lot darker than the others. It wasn't as good as some of the originals, but 100 times better than the other prequels. there wasn't enough charachter development for General Grievous though...

I liked it a lot. There were still a lot of things I know could have been done better, but overall I still really liked it.

Obi-Wan's little (okay, not so little) lizard-horse thing was the cute :D!

It's funny.....Luke doesn't look anyhting like his daddy. I am proposing the theory that Luke is actually the secret love child of Obi Wan and Padme.

Well, I took my parents and younger siblings (and a friend of my little bro's) to see it last night. Overall, I liked it...although I think Anakin's 'turning' could have been done better. Maybe I should have watched the first two movies in preparation, but his whole sulky-boy attitude in the second movie just ****s me up the wall. I don't think Hayden Christensen was right for the part, but oh well...not my movies to be making and casting. I'll still buy it when it comes out on dvd lol. Besides, my movie experience was somewhat sullied by the little twats sitting behind us. Maybe I can get some of the dialogue I had trouble hearing over the rattling of chip packets and stupid statements they were making...

[said of Anakin when he is choking Padme] "Oooh, he's gonna kill her!"

:sarcastic

I wanted to turn around and shout at them "Have you even WATCHED the next movie!?! If he killed Padme, she couldn't have Luke and Leia, and the original trilogy wouldn't even exist, you IDIOTS!!" :banghead3

That was just one example...there were more scattered throughout the entire movie.

One "action" moment that stands out in my mind right now is the lightsaber fight between Obi-wan and General Grievous...that was pretty cool. :p

I liked it more than ep.1&2, though not as well as any of the originals.

For those of you who watched it, man Lucas made Vader more evil than I thought possible. That was just wrong.

As a guilty pleasure I am trying to track down all the Burger King Toys. They are for collecting not for enjoying.

I might wind up the Yoda figure once to make him do a backflip for me.

Well, he wasn't exactly a nice guy in ep.4! Most feared and hated in the galaxy and all that... :p I dunno, I just thought that his transition from sulky-boy to evil-murdering-******* was still too sudden. I know Palpatine was pulling his strings and pushing his buttons and all, but...I don't know...maybe I should have watched eps. 1&2 again before I went to see this one.

Yeah, the killing of the younglings just didnt seem justified... in the sense that his reasons for doing this didnt seem strong enough. Especially when later he says to Obi-Wan that from his perspective the Jedi are evil. Surely you cant blame children for the motives of their teachers?
Another thing.. why not convert the younglings to the way of the sith? Create a Sith order to replace the Jedi.. im sure Palpatine could control them if he was in charge of their tutoring.. just make them fear loss and stuff..

Good film though. Anakin becoming Vader was great! The suit going on and stuff..

I was under the impression that there could never be more than two dark jedi at a time, Master and pupil. Underlings would savage each other in their quest for power.

Because there's only two Sith: master and apprentice. :}~
I know that.. but doesnt make sense.. WHY?
Id start an army of sith.. but withhold much of the knowledge from them and use them as pawns.. hehe..

First of all, DUH!!
Second of all, it was very good
Third of all, I just hope your dream comes true.

LFM and I went to see it together, and I was surprised that it was as good as it was.

WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD!!

DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE MOVIE

I had a great deal of trouble with Skywalker’s “conversion” into the dark side. The reasons were not believable from a Jedi of that understanding. The Paladin Jedi children were more secure in their teachings that Anakin’s decade training.

The nightmares that Anakin was having about his wife’s death during labor were completely fabricated to give another reason (or need) to convince us that the conversion to the Dark Side was “justified”.

Exhibit A:

Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi

(LUKE SKYWALKER has pulled PRINCESS LEIA aside from the Ewok hut, he is about to tell her about Vader being their father.)

LEIA: Luke, what’s wrong?

LUKE: Do you remember your mother, your real mother?

LEIA: Just a little bit, she died when I was very young

LUKE: What do you remember?

LEIA: Just images really, feelings.

LUKE: Tell me.

LEIA: She was…very beautiful..kind..sad. Why are you asking me this?

LUKE: I have no memory of my mother. I never knew her.

Now how can Princess Leia claim this in Episode VI if she was taken away after being delivered by her real mother in Episode III? That is a pretty vivid description of a mother she never met.
