When will Jesus return?

I know for a fact that Jesus will return, because i believe in the scriptures. What i don't know is why his return is taking this long... can it be suggested he cannot return on his own will power but until all things be fulfilled by the greater power as written? (Acts 3:20-21). "My understanding here is that Jesus came and completed his mission on earth that he was sent to do and will return someday, but his return would not come until the Almighty God himself restores all things."

you dont KNOW he will return, you BELIEVE he will return. there is a difference.

Jmorris: I understand the difference and i heard your response. This does not change the fact that he will whether either of us believe that or not. Knowledge -is what you know, to believe -is belief and can change. I know and i'm comfortable with that because i have knowledge beyond belief in God's word. But thank you for your word of caution.

Done here.
I happen to know it wont happen, your belief notwithstanding. Of course, I could be wrong. But I doubt it.;)

Jesus will return as certainly as King Arthur, Elijah, Ninurta, Quetzlcoatl, the Hidden Imam, and Baldr will return. Okay, maybe not as certainly as Baldr.

"note I said "penciled".

That wasn't a random date.:)

There is around here a very devout believer and student of your favorite myth. He has, he says, devoted several years studying the bible. With use of some elaborate mathematical formulas and some careful age calculations he has arrived at that exact date as the time of the re-appearance in the sky of JC. Along with an angelic host lead by Archangel Michael with a sword of fire reserved especially for all us godless heathens.:(

He is quite sure of this. He believes the myth as firmly as YOU do.

Can one of you be wrong?

What do the Scripture's say. From my recollection it goes something like this, "Behold I stand at the door and knock, he who opens the door, I will come in and sup with him".

When Christ returns, it will be in you or any other believer who enters the straight and narrow gate that leads to life.

Peace

Greetings! :)

So sorry, but IOV the Return did indeed take place about a century and a half ago! (Too bad you missed it.)

The prophecies have already been fulfilled, and their results are already under way.

You can see more about this at: www.bci.org/prophecy-fulfilled

Best regards, :)

Umm, the Bible says several times that we DON'T know when Jesus will return. So, how can some Christian dude expect us to believe him? I thought you said he studied the bible.

Aww... poor godless heathens. No, yeah, he's wrong. I can 97.92375% guarantee it. Peace!

1 Thessalonians 5:2-11, "For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober."

When the above passages are interpreted literally, it seems both Jesus and Paul thought Jesus would return within approximately 30 years after Jesus' death. If Jesus and Paul couldn't get it right then what chance us mere mortals?

Of course, literal interpretations of those verses are universally rejected by all Christians, and rightly so.

Since when do the dead rise? Since when does the fictional become reality?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Jesus isn't coming back. After all, he's not special and he may not have even existed.
