I am a former evangelical christian, on a journey, to learn what and why others believe,
to learn from as many who are willing to teach.

Greetings

Welcome to RF! I'm glad you are interested in the beliefs of others.
By the way, you said you are a 'former evangelical christian'. What would you refer to yourself as now and what is the reason for the change?

hello GhK,
I do not know what i am now...I would go with theist/humanist, borderlining on agnosticism. I would say the political activism of christianity was a big turn off for me, as well as the exclusitivity. I was taught that atheists, homosexuals, and people of any other religion/cult...were against God...but I have had most nearly every preconceived thought formerly held, ripped out from under me by reality. I have come to know and love atheists, homosexuals, Hindu's (hello Bmd..:) ) , Mormons,
Baha'i, Wiccans, Buddhists, and many more who have shown me that the "fruit of the spirit" Love especially, is not exclusive to christianity.
this has been a long hard lesson, but I am thankful for all who have been a part of the journey.

with love,
soms
