What would you say if...

they managed to clone Christ, who then proceeded to give the third testament?

I'd say, "Hmmm, that's interesting", and go on about the business of practicing Buddhism.

If he claimed to be the Buddha, but was preaching Christian gospels, then he's not the Buddha. The two things are not directly compatible with each other.

What I mean is if he tied the two in such a way that almost everyone accepted it, would you?

I just lost a long response to this; the gist of it was that I would have to take a very close look at what is being taught. Buddha taught us to trust in the Dharma and not persons; it mattters not WHO is teaching, it matters WHAT is being taught. If what is being taught is Buddhist truth, then fine. The question of cloning isn't even an issue. It also doesn't matter how many accept it; that has nothing to do with it's Buddhist content.

I also noted that you presumed this person to be male; why?

I would call Dr Hamer long distance on the phone (or his answering machine) and yell in the phone "You were right faith is in our genes!!"

Three part question....
So how many tries did it take to get you, and what do you think of all the failures, was it worth it?

Cloning is still not very successful most embryo's end up malformed and miscarried. What happins to all the 'failed Christs'?

What's to say Christ would be any more inclined to write down his teachings this time around than he was the last?

well, first off, to clone someone, you would have to have some sort of proof that they actually existed to begin with. You can't get a DNA sample from a fairy tale.

It wouldn't be him. It would be his clone - a physical copy, not the original Christ. It would look like him, not be him. So why would any Christian follow that?

hey, good point. Why are nearly all the messengers in most religions male? (I say 'nearly all' and 'most' because i realise there are some exceptions)

ah, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought there was historical proof (besides the bible) of Jesus' existance. Hasn't it been proven he lived, he had a mother named Mary, a father named Joseph, a brother named James, and he died on the cross.

I would have to tell the Christ clone that he is too late, EnhancedSpirit already beat him to it.
