Who Moved the Stone?

talkislam_2046_3325411893

READ HERE

Excerpt from the booklet:

"WHO MOVED THE STONE?" or "who ROLLED away the stone?" (Mark 16:3) is a question which has worried theologians for the past two thousand years. Mr. Frank Morison, a prominent Bible scholar, tried to nail down this ghost(s) in a book bearing the same title as this tract. Between 1930 and 1975 his book has gone through ELEVEN editions. Through all his 192 pages of conjectures he failed to answer, "WHO MOVED THE STONE?" (Faber and Faber, London). On page 89 of his book, he writes, "We are left, therefore, with the problem of the vacant tomb unsolved" and proceeds to advance SIX hypotheses, very nearly knocking the proverbial nail on the head with his FIRST supposition, i.e. "THAT JOSEPH OF ARIMATHEA SECRETLY REMOVED THE BODY TO A MORE SUITABLE RESTING PLACE". After confessing that this Joseph "might himself have removed it for private reasons to another place, is one which seems to carry considerable weight" (italics mine), he hurriedly disposes this hypothesis on the flimsiest ground.

Alliance and Disavowal in Surah Mumthainah

Author's Introduction:

"The issue of alliance and disavowal (wala’ and bara’) is probably the most important one of our times when it comes to faith, considering all of its branches, rulings, and implications. And since the Qur’an and authentic Sunnah are our helpers and sources of guidance, it is incumbent upon us to return to them in order to understand such a great concept. I reflected over this great chapter, and I found that it contained the meaning, methodology, and style that fulfill the need of every Muslim today in fully understanding this mighty principle of faith..."

Animals in the Glorious Qur'an

The content of this book is quite fascinating and to a large extent unique. The author of this book has chosen to shed light on the role of the animal throghout the rise of Islam. The author wrote in his introduction 'Animals were considered too trivial to deserve any attention concerning their thinking, if they originally had any kind of thought or the ability to express their astonishment while they were living with Prophets, witnessing marvelous miracles or constituting an integral part of these miracles. In such a way, this group of animals was subject to the oppression of being ignored throughout fourteen centuries.

Stories of the Qur'an

dt_s.o.t.q1.gif

Extract from the book:

"Given the significance of these stories, not a small number of Muslim scholars exerted efforts to compile, verify and comment on them. Ibn Katheer (May Allah rest his soul) is a pioneer in that respect. His voluminous Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah (The Beginning and the End) relates the stories of Allah's prophets and world nations since the beginning of history. Truly, he successfully managed to find the relationship between the details cited in the Glorious Qur'an and the Prophetic Hadiths of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) that explained and clarified the incidents that took place. He also tried his best to portrait the characters of heroes of our stories and their relevant backgrounds. So doing, he presented a lively easy account of these stories of the Glorious Qur'an."

"Calling the Quran amazing is not something done only by Muslims, who have an appreciation for the book and who are pleased with it; it has been labeled amazing by non-Muslims as well. In fact, even people who hate Islam very much have still called it amazing.

The Excellent Qualities of the Holy Quran

READ HERE

By: Imam Muhammed Bin Abdul Wahab
Rendered into English by Muhammed Iqbal Siddique

FOREWORD

This is an English version of the book entitled Fada il-e-Qur'an originally written in Arabic by the Imam Muhammad bin 'Abdul Wahb, an eminent Muslim Scholar, and translated into Urdu by Maulana Mahmud Ahmad Ghazanfar, Mab'uth, Dar al-Ifta, Government of Saudi Arabia. Strictly speaking it is not a literal rendering of the original; rather it is the presentation of the meaning of the original in easy English language; in presenting the meaning, however, an attempt has been made to be very close to the original. All footnotes are added by the Translator to clarify difficult phrases and words, and to provide the reader with more relevant information. It is hoped that this small book will be of great help to the English knowing reader in his understanding of the Holy Qur'an.

I am confused why there is so many books talking about the Quran and Islam. I find this to be a problem in Christianity as well, as it leads one away from the main book, and into people's opinion and minds, which are not the mind of God. Does that make sense at all?

Islam is a vast Way of life.

It is not only restricted to the Qur'an but the Qur'an is the main authoritative Legislation and the primary source for Muslims to live by.

The teachings, actions and legacy of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) are also used as sources from which Muslims derive rulings.

Islam is not something restricted to a friday prayer, or a few fasts but it is a Way of Life the is Superior to all the other ways of life.

It teaches us the major and minor action which mankind need to know. As an example ponder over the following Hadith:

"Salman (the companion of the Prophet) reported that it was said to him: Your Messenger (peace be upon him) teaches you about everything, even about excrement. He replied: Yes, he has forbidden us to face the Qibla (direction of the Kab'ah) at the time of excretion or urination, or cleansing with right hand or with less than three pebbles, or with dung or bone."

He led Muslim resistance to the European Crusaders and eventually recaptured some part of Palestine from the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem. As such, he is a notable figure in Arab, Kurdish, and Islamic Culture. Saladin was a strict practitioner of Sunni Islam.. He did not maim, kill or retaliate against those whom he defeated with the notable exception of certain events following the Battle of Hattin. His generally chivalrous behaviour was noted by Christian chroniclers, especially in the accounts of the siege of Kerak in Moab.

Healing with the
Medicine of the Prophet
(peace be upon him)

Imam Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyah
Healing with the Medicine of the Prophet is the panacea for those in search of good health. Although it was written by the author, Ibn Al-Qayyim, over six hundred and fifty years ago, it is extremely timely work for our generation in which health and natural health care products have become an important aspect of the lives of so many. The author presents the guidance of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in dealing with a variety of health issues, including treatment of ailment and preventive remedies to keep the body fit. As the Qur'an and Sunnah are the main sources of Islamic lifestyle, it only stands to reason that they should likewise be referred to in the matters of health and fitness. This is the approach taken by Ibn Al-Qayyim as he presents Verses of the Qur'an and statements of the Prophet (peace be upon him) as his main reference in these issues of health and medicines. The final chapters the this work include an extremely beneficial glossary of remedies, herbs, foods and other natural substances that aid in the journey towards better health.
