Is this a race?

I have a Christian basis, but don't see that religion the way most Christians do. I'm probably a Zen Christian. I believe Jesus was telling us that our Christ Self is within us and told us how to be in touch with it. I believe he was a teacher and not God of the Christ.

I'll try...

Connectedness... Everything is connected therefore if you know yourself, the rest of the universe is easy to understand. (meditation)

Balance... Being in balance with all opposites and in balance with the spirits. (observation)

Fluidity... The only thing constant is change. Don't try to change things, but let them change on their own. Go with the flow of nature. (relaxation)

Respect... Have respect for all things for all things have a purpose. Without purpose, nothing would exist. (appreciation)

Discipline... It takes discipline to be able to follow the first 4.

That was probably too long. But it was the best I could do. Its hard to make something so complex that simple.

1. We believe in one god...at least...if any.

2. We're dedicated to the process of discovering truth, and not to any particular truth itself.

3. We're allowed to worship freely.

4. We welcome people of any race, gender, religious beliefs, or sexual preference.

5. We are more focused on this life than the afterlife.

1. I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord, who was concieved by the Holy Spirit, Born of the Virgin Mary, crucified under Pontius Pilate.

2. He suffered, died, and was buried.

3. He rose again from the dead and will come again in Glory

4. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the resurrection of the body, and Life everlasting. Amen

Okay. There, the Apostle's creed sums it up nicely in four sentences.

Have respect for yourself and for all your relations

The Truth of the path to the cessation of suffering.

I am of the WAY, a sect of the Jews, Paul first persecuted the Way, then joined it.
We are almost a mirror image of Judism, except we accept Yeshua as the Messiah.
We keep the law that pertains to us.
We believe the righteous of all nations share in the Olam ha Bah.

Happy to! :)

The Baha'i Faith is the newest major religion. Now 162 years old, it began in Persian and has spread to literally every country on earth; it is also (according to the "Encyclopedia Britannica") the second most widespread religion in the world (after Christianity).

Its most central teachings are the Three Onenesses: the oneness of God, the oneness of humanity, and the common foundation of all the great religions.

Baha'is promote unity, peace, love, and concord, and have no clergy or hierarchy (but rather elect their administrative bodies via a unific spiritual process free of politicking).

We welcome everyone to our meetings, welcome questions, and hope you'll investigate the Baha'i Faith. :)

Regards,

Bruce

Hmmm. Describe my religion in five sentences or less. That's a good challenge.

1. We worship Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, as our Savior and Redeemer and as the only means by which we might be reconciled to God.

2. We believe that God is the Father of the spirits of all men and women who have ever lived or will ever live, that we are His offspring, His own sons and daughters who are created in His literal image.

3. We believe that God created us and provided the experience of mortality for us in order that we could gain physical bodies, learn from our experiences and grow in our faith in Him; "man is that he might have joy."

4. We believe that God has always communicated with His children and continues to do so today by speaking to us through a living Prophet; the Heavens are not sealed!

5. We believe that God has given each of us, through His Son Jesus Christ, the potential to become as He is, to continue to progress with our eternal families throughout all eternity.

To respect all of creation.
To try to have a deeper understanding of things, yourself most of all.
To live at harmony with nature, and communicating with all of nature, including spirits.
To accept change, because the only constant in life is change.
To use your gifts for the greater good, and not for monetary or material gain.

That which is evil to you do not do to your neighbor. That is all that is the Torah. The rest is commentary, go and study (and study and study and study and study and study...you get the idea).
