What is the background of the Knights of Columbus?

Today when i was confirmed:woohoo: .......they put their blades up and the Bishop went under them on his way thru.

Since we don't have a very big church the KofC's don't do much, but they do make fantastic breakfasts!!!!!!!! :)

That would be so cool!!! What does it look like and were did you get it?
It has kinda a french looking handle with a lion on tip and griffins on the sides. The sheath has biblical scenes, like samson, and the bald is engraved with pitcures of Romans. Some guys name is also engraved. The handle plate has a lily with a U and a R on either side. I love the sword, its really cool

Actually, i got it from my grandma. The ironic thing is that she doesn't even have a religion. I think she's athiest, but not sure. One day i was snooping around (my grandma lets me do that, because they have a really old cool house). I came across this and showed it to her, and she gave it to me. I also found a cutlass that she let me have too. i collect blades, and my KOC sword is my absolute favorite.:D

I had a great uncle, Gerry, who was one of my favorite people of all time. I don't know anyone who met him that didn't like him. He was a Knight of Columbus, so they're ok in my book.

Sorry, that's all I know about it now... it's where all the older ladies I know go to get their gambling fix.

But I can't wait to find out what it's really about.
