I've met plenty, and plenty younger. Not many, as far as I know, regret it.
I stand corrected, Truth. Like I said, my sample was pretty small.

Ah , to be Canadian ... and please everyone , but no one ... lol

I loved the case a few years back where some guy pleaded innocence in a murder case " because he was too drunk to know whar he was doing ". And yet , drinking driving carries an automatic jail term { for repleted offensives of even .08 } . :) Can't argue that you were too drunk to realize that you were driving a car , but can that you were too drunk to realize that you were killing somebody ??? But of course . :)

Are you from the Winnipeg area Ness ? Or do you just like Winnie ?

Consent is just a word, if a 14 year old wants to have sex they will.
Well said. Canada is a very liberal country and conservatives would like to raise this age of consent to 16. Liberals think that 16 is too old, so they keep 14. However, for gays and lesbians, age of consent is still 16. Only for sex between heterosexuals and 14 year olds is legal in Canada (gays and lesbians need to wait until they turn 16). If conservatives win next election, they might increase this age of consent to 16. I will vote liberal, because I hate conservatives, they are too backward and not progressive.

^Is there that much of a change in 2 years?

Why can't they just compromise and say 15, that way they're both happy. That would be what republicrats do.

That's strange that homosexual and heterosexual partner's consent age is different. I would have thought it would be the same.

I believe it's because there is lots of HIV/AIDS among homosexuals. One more thing, here in Canada, gay marriage is legalized (also, marijuana use, under 30 grams, is legalized).
Cheers.

Actually, the consent for female homosexuality is fourteen, but for males, it's eighteen, in Canada.

I don't know why females get it earlier.

Look up whatever country you want.
Well, if it does have a lot to do with HIV/AIDS, then it might be due to the fact that the it can be passed along a lot more easily between males than between females.

Reading through all this has strengthened my opinion that it shouldn't be increased. I think it could be changed somewhat, but I'm all for freedom, and increasing the age would take away a little freedom.

No , I believe it has more to do with anal sex , which Canada has some rather strange laws about .

BTW , I haven't heard that they made pot legal ? Decrimalized somewhat , but still not legal . And the Liberal Party liberal ? Well , if compared to the Reform ... ;)

Do you mean they have some aversion to it? Or do they simply have weird laws for no apparent reason? Or...?

I said make it higher but I ment to click keep it the same.

I believe that there is a specific age bracket you're allowed to sleep with if your a certian age. 14 year old can be with 16 year olds but not 18 year old. It rather confusing up here and I dont' think I've met anyone who actually knows what it is.

BTW , I haven't heard that they made pot legal ? Decrimalized somewhat , but still not legal .
You get a fine, no record and no jail time. If it's a small amount of personal use.
