First Love

I remember hearing (I cannot remember the source) that the 'first love' is the one that will influence an individual most for the rest of his/her life. I must admit that I had a relationship with a girl for over seven years, and I was allways convinced that we would marry. However, we didn't.

My parents saw her as a 'gold digger' not that I am wealthy; I think they meant that they thought of her more as a parasite. True, there will allways be some tenuous 'connection' (although I have no idea where she lives).
How do you all see this ? Is it true for you ?:)

I think it is true that your first love does stick with you for the rest of your life because I have been through a lot with my ex, but I still love him and probably always will. :bonk: I remember all the good time we spent together, but I will also remember all the bad times. I have learned from this experience...he has made me aware of the type of guys I dont want to be with. He helped me figure out what I didnt want. Your first love can do a lot for you, in my case it taught me a lot about what I need and want in a man.:jiggy:

My first love was introduced to me at an early age. The moment that she entered my arms I knew it was going to be forever. She had a body with all the curves in the right place and a smooth neck. Since I was young I was quite inexperienced but when I touched her she made a sound as if angels were singing in harmony. I tried to spend as much time with her as I could but what eventually happens to people at my age you move on to other things. We eventually drifted apart. It was not a mutual departure.

It wasn’t until High School that I became reacquainted with her. She looked great a little different from when we first met. I had certainly grown older and wiser since I had last seen her and when I touched her I told her that this time we would stay together and she sang out in agreement in her own sweet familiar voice. I stayed true to my word and to this day we remain inseparable.

As the years went by I had met many girls that I liked but many of them had problems with our relationship. One girlfriend even gave me an ultimatum. I could spend the rest of my life with her or my first love. I never hesitated in my decision. Almost my whole life, my first love was always there for me when I found myself alone or if I was feeling sad or bored and I was not going to choose between my new loves over a love I have known my whole life.

It wasn’t until I met mrscarrdero that my life was now complete. Not only did mrscarrdero understand about my first love but she enjoyed watching and eventually participating.
Now I play my guitar for mrscarrdero all the time and we have accumulated quite a list of duets to sing and play together.

My first love kept me from committing suicide, so he's definatly had a great effect on my life. He did teach me a lot about myself. I think he made me a better person. He has had a great influence on me, but I'm not sure if that's because he's the first man I loved, of if it's because he was just such a good friend.

We ended horribly though. When I'm practing karate, it's his face I envision I'm punching. :)

It must not have been "first love" for I've forgotten her name and even what she looks like

Are we talking about sexual love or just love ? If love in general , then I agree totally . But if so , I think that you are forgetting who your first love was . :)

{ ok that sounds very Freudian , but still ... }

18 and never had a boyfriend.

Had several guys like me though. But for some reason, they were all stalkerish-creepy. o_o

I have yet to have the 'first love' only immediate attraction which is nothing special. I am looking forward to meeting her though if she is for real.

I'm kinda cautious with this sorta thing, so I haven't told anyone that I've loved them yet (outside of my family, of course). I came really close once, but then he completely lost my trust.... which doesn't help me break free from that caution thing. :-(

I'm with my first love right now, and I must say, it's purty nice!

I can't imagine life without him anymore, and I don't mean that in a "weak-woman", "Oh my GAWD, I just cannot live without my/a boyfriend!" Quite the contrary. I don't know how I got so lucky, but he is my soulmate, and I cannot possibly quantify how privledged I feel to have him. Hell, I don't even believe in souls! Ahhh...you know you've got something good when your most serious argument follows along the lines of this:

"I love you."
"I love you more."
"Yeah? Well I love you most."
"Nuh-uh, I love you most!"
"Oh really? Well I love you times infinity, plus one!"
"You can't do that."
"Do what?"
"You can't say infinity and plus one at the same time."
"Says who?"
"Says the Logical Rules for Argumentation Handbook. It's like trying to say 'more' and 'most' at the same time. You're ignoring the natural progression of things."
"You're making all of this up."
"You calling me a liar?"
"Maybe."
"Does someone want to sleep on the couch?"
"I'm sorry. You're absolutely right."

Hehe--yes...yes, that's how it went!

You know what the best thing about having my soulmate is, though? He loves me the SAME WAY. Oh man....that has to be one of the most fulfilling feelings I've ever felt....aaahhhh, my heart is going that fluttery stuff again! I either have a heart murmur, or....I seriously love this guy!

Our 6 month anniversary is coming up in a couple of weeks! I love you, Eric. ;)

We were 7 years old. His name was Christopher. He definately made me feel loved and beautiful, and I think he's part of the reason I'm such a huge romantic. I knew love like that could come again, it was possible in reality, and it did!

"She was a child and I was a child in our kingdom by the sea"

That pretty much sums it up. We really loved each other. We were best friends who kissed!! But niether of us were mature enough to handle it all yet, and we went our seperate ways.

But I'm glad it happened.

I think you're purty. :)

I certainly won't ever forget my first love....nor our 6 month anniversary, for that matter!

Hmmm....I've been sitting here for some time now, trying to think of a way to express how I feel about her....but I just can't. (She stole all my ideas!) I guess the best I can do is to say....ditto. Or as good ol' Napoleon Dynamite would say....yeah...this is pretty much the most in love I've ever been. Sweet!

I love and adore you, Abby. The times I'll cherish most for the rest of my life will be the ones I spent with you.
